Here’s Why Kang Hoon Cried After Knowing ‘The Red Sleeve Cuff’ Director’s Comment About His Acting
"The Red Sleeve Cuff" star Kang Hoon confessed why he got emotional upon reading the letter that the drama's director penned to him.
On January 10, Npio Entertainment released a short video interview of Kang Hoon in which he talked about his successful drama "The Red Sleeve Cuff." He thanked director Jung Ji In and co-stars Lee Se Young & Lee Junho.
Kang Hoon His Chemistry with Lee Se Young and Lee Junho
The seven minute video interview was uploaded through Npio Entertainment's official YouTube channel. As he began, Kang Hoon mentioned that he really had a great time working with Lee Se Young and Lee Junho. Whenever he is with them, the onscreen couple treats him well and builds a strong chemistry behind the camera.
According to the rising actor, it was an honor for him to be loved and recognized for his impeccable performance in "The Red Sleeve Cuff." When talking about his future plans now that a project of his has already finished, Kang Hoon revealed that he wants to try showing more of his acting skills, in new dramas, movies or plays.
In addition, the best new actor recipient said that during the drama's table reading, he enjoyed reading the script which helped him to immerse himself in the character of Hong Deok Ro with confidence. Though it was not an easy journey for him to play the role of Hong Deok Ro, he was able to manage to show strong emotions on screen.

'The Red Sleeve Cuff' Director Jung Ji In's Words Made Kang Hoon Cried
Meanwhile, Kang Hoon confessed that he cried a lot after reading compliments and kind words from director Jung Ji In. As the drama concluded, the cast received gifts from the staff but Kang Hoon was particularly moved by the drama director's letter for him.
"Director Jung Ji In is the one who made Hong Deok Ro with me. And I remember that I cried a lot after reading her letter to me saying, 'You did a great job and you have worked hard.'" He continued, "The director is such a good person and she is one of the talented people I would never forget. I was very honored and grateful to meet her and work with her on a project."
For the record, Kang Hoon received his first-ever drama award in the previous 2021 MBC Drama Awards where he took home the trophy for Best New Actor.
