Actress Lee Yu Mi emerged as a rising star by participating in two worldwide hits consecutively in a year with the Netflix series "Squid Game" and "All of Us Are Dead," leaving a strong impression and earning recognition from viewers all over the world.
Lee Yu Mi Dishes Out Thoughts on Hit Series 'Squid Game,' 'All of Us Are Dead'
Lee Yu Mi showed off her bold and striking presence as Jiyoung in "Squid Game" in the first half of 2021, leaving the world shook.
She returned to the small screen months after as Nayeon, a mortal villain in the zombie apocalypse series "All of Us Are Dead," which once again caused an uproar in the online Hallyu community.
The two South Korean series dominated the Netflix global charts, maintaining its spot in the Top 10 in numerous weeks in countries like South Korea, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Malaysia and more.
When asked about her favorite work, Lee Yu Mi said that both "Squid Game" and "All of Us Are Dead" are close to her heart.
"They are a work that I've been waiting for the longest time," Lee Yu Mi shared, "I am luckier than I expected. I feel very happy that both works were well-received by everyone."
In particular, "Squid Game" and "All of Us Are Dead" were filmed around the same time. The actress revealed that she had quite a hard time going back and forth to film two opposite characters.

Despite the two series focus on survival, Jiyoung in "Squid Game" is selfless and kind while Nayeon in "All of Us Are Dead" feels more indifferent and callous.
But because of her acting prowess and guidance by senior actors on set, she chewed the lines and immersed herself in her characters perfectly.
Lee Yu Mi's Dream Acting Role Revealed
Lee Yu Mi appeared in two box office hits consecutively in a year, which feels surreal for the 28-year-old star.
"I've been acting for a very long time, but there are still many things I haven't experienced," she admitted, "I feel really good, but I want to do various things gradually."

When asked about the acting role she wants to do in the future, Lee Yu Mi answered with a laugh, "I want to play the role of a character that doesn't die easily."
Since her two previous works centered on survival, she had to play characters who constantly have to run for their lives.
"If I am given the chance, I'd want to portray a character who lives longer," she added.
