"Thirty-Nine," which stars Jeon Mi Do, Son Ye Jin and Kim Ji Hyuk, will be on a one-week hiatus as announced by JTBC. 

According to Korean portals, the broadcast network confirmed that the two upcoming episodes of the Wednesday and Thursday K-drama would be delayed to give way to the country's important event.

'Thirty-Nine' Paused For South Korean Presidential Elections

JTBC halts March 9 and 10 broadcasts due to South Korea's presidential election coverage.

Instead of the upcoming episodes, the network is scheduled to release a special broadcast containing the rundown of "Thirty-Nine" episodes 1 till 6. 

With this, "Thirty-Nine" episode 7 will be released on March 16, while the eighth episode will be on the 17th and can be streamed via JTBC and Netflix.

Jeon Mi Do, Kim Ji Hyun and Son Ye Jin's new drama have been getting the viewers' attention and gaining positive responses from the public since its global release on February 16. 

The 12-part episode series follows the story of three best friends who met during their high school years and maintained their connection till their late thirties. 

As the trio prepares to welcome their forties, Jang Chan Young (Jeon Mi Do,) Jang Jo Hee (Kim Ji Hyun) and Cha Mi Jo (Son Ye Jin) are set to embark on an unforgettable journey despite the headaches and challenges in their lives. 

In "Thirty-Nine," episode 6, the drama focuses on how Mi Jo and Joo Hee devoted their time to Chan Young, who was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer.

On the other hand, Jang Chan Young ensures that her friends get what they deserve, hence preparing her bucket list. It includes Mi Jo finding her biological parents and Joo Hee having her first relationship. 

Unfortunately, it's not always rainbows and butterflies for the trio. 

Despite trying to make Chan Young the happiest terminally patient in the world, unexpected things crossed their way. 

It came after Mi Jo encountered Kim Ji Seok (Lee Moo Saeng) 's wife outside Chan Young's house. 

"Thirty-Nine" episode 6 stunned the viewers with Son Ye Jin's acting prowess. 

In the sixth episode, Mi Jo proved how she is eager to protect Chan Young at all costs that she forgets about herself.

The upcoming episode might uncover the reason behind Jang Chan Young and Kim Jin Seok's breakup. 

"Thirty-Nine" episode 7 also hints at Jang Joo Hee's budding romance with the chef after quitting her job as a cosmetic manager. The upcoming episode revealed that she worked as a part-timer at Park Hyun Joon's (Lee Tae Hwan) restaurant. 

Lastly, Kim Seon Woo (Yeon Woo Jin) reminds Cha Mi Jo that she needs to take care of herself too, after seeing her unconscious outside Chan Young's house, following her intense encounter with Ji Seok's wife.
