Lee Joon Gi's 'Again My Life' Premieres With High Ratings

Lee Joon Gi finally returned to the small screen with his newly-launched series "Again My Life." The actor proves his power after the drama started with strong ratings during its first week, and even topped the Friday-Saturday drama ratings.

Nielsen Korea revealed that "Again My Life" episode 1, which aired on April 8, recorded an average rating of 5.8 percent nationwide.

Meanwhile, in the following episode, the series gained viewers and achieved a 6.8 percent rating. 

Legal-revenge series "Again My Life" is Lee Joon Gi's first drama after two years following "Flower of Evil" in 2020.

In "Again My Life," Lee Joon Gi plays the role of Kim Hee Woo, a hot-tempered prosecutor killed by Cho Tae Seop (Lee Kyung Young), a powerful politician greedy for his position. Surprisingly, a grim reaper appears in front of Kim Hee Woo's dead body and asks him if he will be given a chance to have another life, will he use it to avenge Cho Tae Seop?

Hee Woo is determined to have a second life and is granted to make a return to earth with the help of the grim reaper. He comes back as a student in his 20s, busy preparing for his bar exam.

From there, he continues to develop new skills that will help him fight the evil in the real world, particularly Cho Tae Seop and people who take advantage of their statuses in life.

Webtoon-Based K-Dramas Gain Recognition From Viewers

In addition, another fantasy drama, "Tomorrow," which stars Kim Hee Sun, SF9 Rowoon, Lee Soo Hyuk, and Yoon Ji On, maintains its good ratings. Episode 3 ended with a 5.4 percent rating, while episode 4 recorded a percentage of 4.1. 

Webtoon-based series like "Again My Life" and "Tomorrow" are confirmed to gain more popularity on various OTT platforms. According to a report, these dramas adapted from webtoon and web novels tend to capture the viewers' interest due to their unique and engaging storylines.
