'My Liberation Notes' Episode 1: A Glimpse To Yeom Mi Jeong's Life

"My Liberation Notes" episode 1 starts by introducing Yeom Mi Jeong (Kim Ji Won). Unlike her colleagues who shop, wine and dine all the time, she lives a simple life.

The first episode also introduces her older sister, Yeom Ki Jeong (Lee El). After getting into a small altercation at a barbecue restaurant, the two sisters meet their brother Yeom Chang Hee (Lee Min Ki) who also had a rough night.

As the three siblings go back home to their little village, the simple and quiet life of the three are highlighted.

Because of their societal status, installment plans such as cars and rentals are quite an issue. Among the siblings, Mi Jeong is the most conflicted as it takes its toll on her job.

Episode 1 tells the mundane life of the Yeom siblings, and how they crave for a better life and a greener pasture.

In episode 2, Mi Jeong, Ki Jeong and Chang Hee all feel alienated in their own ways.

Mi Jeong and Ki Jeong's difficulties at work are amplified. Ki Jeong gets briefed at work for her latest project which she is determined to perfect. On the other hand, Mi Jeong continues to work despite her colleagues' hostility.

Unbeknownst to them, Mi Jeong also wants to come with their small get-togethers, but her financial incapacity hinders her.

In addition to that, her money, which she worked hard for, was lent out to a friend who ran off to Thailand.

At the end of the episode, she helps a bloody Mr. Goo (Son Seok Koo), a stranger who moves into their village, and takes him to the hospital.

Because of all the mental and physical stress, she cries and admits that her life is a mess. She then asks him to worship her in order to make her life whole again.

'My Liberation Notes' Episode 3: Mi Jeong Finally Joins A Club

Mr. Goo still reels over Mi Jeong's words about her life. She wants him to worship her and turn away from all of his vices.

However, Mr. Goo is content with living his life alone peacefully. Because of this, Mi Jeong didn't go home and instead spent time with her colleagues, who thought of her as "boring."

She was also pressured to join a recreational club even if she doesn't find anything fun. Mi Jeong then heads over to see Mr. Goo, and drinks booze with him.

On the other hand, Ki Jeong bravely confronts her boss about his special treatment to her other colleagues. Her boss asks her out for a drink, crushing her pride even more.

At work, Mi Jeong makes some new genuine friends who also don't have a clique. Then, they began to call themselves "The Liberation Club" as they wanted liberty from the exhaustion of feeling trapped.

'My Liberation Notes' Episode 4: A Sense of Hope

Back in the countryside, Mr. Goo joins Mi Jeong and her family for dinner. The former willingly accepts Mi Jeong's offer to "worship her," as long as they take the slow road.

At work, Mi Jeong and her newfound friends' "The Liberation Club" spreads across to all of her colleagues.

When asked about the name of the club, she explains that the club stands for breaking free from their shells. Mi Jeong discovers a new sense of boldness because of this, and she starts to think of life in a different way.

'My Liberation Notes' Episode 5: Yeom Mi Jeong's Inner Thoughts and Feelings

In episode 5, a heart-fluttering moment between Mi Jeong and Mr. Goo is given focus.

As the storm devastated the small village in the previous night, the Yeom siblings as well as Mr. Gu try to work with what they were left with.

While working, Mi Jeong remains fixated on Mr. Goo who slowly comes out of his shy shell.

Meanwhile, Gi Jeong takes her time away from the sun as she recovers from her plastic surgery. Shocked, her siblings can't do anything about her new transformation, which makes her totally happy.

At work, Mi Jeong's club is encouraged to come up with a statement describing what their club actually does.

Mi Jeong then starts to write in a journal, which she named "My Liberation Notes." It contains parts of Mi Jeong's life and how she wants to start living differently from before.

"My Liberation Notes" episode 5 also revealed that she doesn't truly love anything, and she dislikes her siblings and parents.
