Ahead of its premiere, the 44-year-old star shares his thoughts about his return to the small screen and why he chose the MBC series as his comeback K-drama.

Helmed by "Haechi" and "The Village: Achiara's Secret" director Lee Yong Seok, alongside "Class of Lies" screenwriter Jang Hong Chul, "Doctor Lawyer" will be the new medical-thriller drama that would get fans all hooked.
In the upcoming MBC series, So Ji Sub took on the role of a surgeon turned prosecutor Han Yi Han.

Known for being a skilled surgeon, Han Yi Han faced a challenging surgery that tainted his name at the height of his skyrocketing career.
Despite losing everything, including his family, he managed to bounce back and traded his white coat for a sleek suit, transforming into a prosecutor of the Medical Crimes Division. Basically, his work focuses on handling the case of doctors and medical personnel who were accused of malpractices.
Like his upcoming drama, So Ji Sub is returning to the small screen with an exciting character. As obtained by Dispatch Korea, it revealed what prompted him to join the cast and headline "Doctor Lawyer."
According to the actor, he finds it interesting that Han Yi Han plays both doctor and a lawyer.
"From a doctor to a lawyer, it's the same person, but it's a character that shows emotions and a sense of purpose that comes from completely different situations," he explained.
Moreover, So Ji Sub says he thinks his new character is "fun" and is expected to entertain viewers with his different charms.
Joining So Ji Sub in "Doctor Lawyer" is Shin Sung Rok as the mysterious character named Jayden Lee, a top shot boss at Honors Hand, a company specializing in investments.
Apart from the duo, Im Soo Hyang will also play as one of the lead stars as she takes the role of Geum Seok Young.

So Ji Sub's new drama "Doctor Lawyer" is set to be released on June 3, airing every Friday and Saturday via MBC.

After four years, So Ji Sub returns not just to the small screen but also to the big screen with two upcoming movies.
After the 2018 tv series "Terius Behind Me" and the movie "Be with You," he will headline the cast of "Alien + People" with Kim Woo Bin, Ryu Joon Yeol, and Kim Tae Ri.
The much-awaited sci-fi fantasy movie will air this 2022 while he recently starred in the mystery crime film "Confession" with Kim Yoon Jin and Nana.
