IU At Cannes: ‘Broker’ Star Reveals Dresses She Would Have Worn at the Festival
IU unveils a sneak peek of her preparation for her first-ever appearance at the Cannes Film Festival.
Her new movie "Broker," directed by Koreeda Hirokazu, which also stars Song Kang Ho, Kang Dong Won, Bae Doona, and Lee Joo Young, was among the films that got invited to premiere at the prestigious festival.
In addition, the drama movie also competed at the coveted Palme d'Or alongside "Decision to Leave."
'Broker' Achievement at Cannes Film Festival 2022
Apart from receiving a 12-minute long standing ovation during the premiere, "Broker" also bagged the Best Actor Award through veteran star Song Kang Ho. His historic win made him the first Korean male actor to bring home the trophy.
Following the celebration, IU shared on her official YouTube channel the behind-the-scenes during her dress fitting.
In the video, she revealed that she had never filmed dress fitting in her ten-year career. Regardless, the singer-actress looked divine in every outfit.
IU's First Fitting for Cannes Film Festival 2022
At the beginning of the video, the "Hotel Del Luna" star mentioned that she "feels a bit awkward" but wanted to share the experience with UAENA, or what IU calls her supporters.
The first of the five dresses is the stunning black ball gown dress with a tube top neckline, flaunting her sexy shoulders.
Although the dress looked perfect to her, the actress said that it was pretty heavy for her and would have a hard time moving around and greeting people.
"But to wear this at Festival de Cannes and go around and greet people and watch movies. I think it might be a bit heavy. But it's easy to wear," she explained.

Moving on to the second is the glittery dress with open back detail, exposing a bit of skin.
Despite loving how glam the dress is, she is concerned with the hollow back detail.
For the third fitting, IU wore the exact dress she wore at the Cannes Film festival 2022 red carpet.
It was the moss green from Korean designer Choi Jae Hoon's Wedding 2022 Spring Collection.
According to the actress, it was "the best so far," pointing out that the "color is so pretty."
During the event, the singer-actress paired it with a Joséphine Aigrette necklace from Chaumet.
A media outlet revealed that the stunning gold necklace with 180 miniature diamond jewelry costs a whopping $89,000 USD.
Meanwhile, IU's Chaumet earrings were valued at $16,000 USD.
For her fourth look, the songstress tried on a royal purple dress with cape details.
The staff mentioned that the dress looks best for the wedding, while IU joked that she "would clean all the floors of Festival de Cannes."
Moreover, she also added that she "would need a lot of confidence and would really need to be bold" to perfectly slay the dress.
Last on her fitting was the elegant mermaid dress. Everyone wowed when she came out, but the actress fell in love with the moss green dress made by the Korean designer.
