Kim Young Dae Joins The Cast of 'Golden Spirit'

A media report stated on June 13 that Kim Young Dae is chosen to star in the forthcoming series "Golden Marriage Decree" (working title) also known as "Golden Spirit." Joining him in the project are Park Joo Hyun and Kim Woo Seok.

The newest MBC drama follows the story of a fraud that takes place at the palace in front of King Lee Heon, who lost the Crown Prince seven years ago and gave him a golden spirit. The scammer says that she can possess the deceased Crown Prince.

What We Know So Far About 'Golden Spirit'

Kim Young Dae takes the role of Lee Heon, the king of Joseon, who can do anything for his woman. Since he already had an experience in the rom-com genre, viewers are now looking forward to how he will portray another charming character in the soon-to-release drama.

Park Joo Hyun, who just finished her series "Love All Play" where she played the role of a badminton athlete will transform into a con artist in "Golden Spirit."

Meanwhile, Kim Woo Seok, who is active in participating in various dramas such as "Police Class" and "Military Prosecutor Doberman" will portray the role of Lee Shin Won, the eldest son of the provincial governor in their city. He may look cold outside but he actually has a warm and sweet persona that he hides from the public.

Park Joo Hyun, Kim Woo Seok, and Kim Young Dae are expected to showcase their charms in the upcoming historical series. Former IZ*ONE member Kim Min Ju might also join the cast members. 

Furthermore, "Golden Spirit" is based on a web novel of the same name written by Cheon Ji Hye, which was also well received by webtoon readers. She will also be the one to pen the script for the drama adaptation, while director Park Sang Woo is in charge of the project. 

The filming will start in earnest, and the production plans to release the drama in the second half of 2022.

"Golden Spirit" marks Kim Young Dae's second romantic-comedy-drama following tvN's "Shooting Stars," which just recently concluded.
