Viewers often see Park Bo Gum playing the boy next door role because of his angelic features. Just like in "Encounter," where he played Kim Jin Suk, an ordinary young man who fell in love with a politician's daughter Cha Soo Hyun, portrayed by Song Hye Kyo.

Of course, who would forget Park Bo Gum playing the free-spirited and charming crown prince in "Love in the Moonlight."

However, he proved he could ace different roles, even a villain character, after landing the role of psychopathic serial killer Jung Sun Ho in the 2015 series "Hello Monster," also known as "I Remember You."

The thriller mystery series also stars Seo In Guk as the genius criminal profiler Lee Hyun with Jang Nara as Detective Cha Ji An.

He made the viewers fall in love with his character in "Goblin," playing the charismatic grim reaper, and Lee Yeon in "Tale of the Nine-Tailed" alongside Kim Bum.

Interestingly, Lee Dong Wook surprised the audience when he took the role of a charming dentist by day and psychopath killer at night playing Seo Moon Jo.

Another versatile star that could pull off both villain and hero is none other than Namgoong Min.

He made waves on social media, showing off his massive transformation for the action crime K-drama "The Veil," where he played the revenge-driven NIS agent Han Ji Hyuk.

The 44-year-old top star also mesmerized viewers with his charming character as Baek Seung Soo in "Hot Stove League."

Interestingly, one of Namgoong Min's Kdrama that gained attention to audiences differently is the 2015 series "Remember: War of the Son." Exuding a ruthless and cruel personality, he played the character of Nam Gyu Man, the mastermind behind many heinous crimes.

Before sending viewers in a whirlwind frenzy with heart-fluttering scenes with f(x)'s Krystal in "Crazy Love," he first captured the attention of fans by playing the mysterious villain in the hit OCN series "Voice."

Kim Jae Wook took the role of a psychopath CEO Mo Tae Gyu who has a knack for killing people with a kettlebell.

After the series made a successful finale, Kim Jae Wook revealed that he faced struggles playing a murderer.

"When I first received the script, I barely had any lines until episode eight," he said, as obtained by a media outlet, adding "Before my character revealed his face, he killed people while wearing a black hat. I went through some trouble trying to act out these scenes."
