'Alchemy of Souls' Recovers From Slight Bump With New Episode
For eight weeks, tvN's fantasy romance drama "Alchemy of Souls" drew fluctuating results in terms of viewership ratings.

"Alchemy of Souls" follows the story of a powerful sorceress who gets trapped inside a blind woman's body, and eventually meets the children of the people who murdered her family.
The series gained massive interest from the public in both the domestic and international scene, recording promising ratings since its premiere.
With the latest episode of "Alchemy of Souls," which was released on August 7, the drama recorded a nationwide rating of 7.5%, which marks the drama's second highest rating yet.

It is also 1% higher than the recorded rating in its previous episode. However, the new score failed to surpass the drama's average rating.

On a brighter note, fans all over the world including Thailand, Indonesia, the Philippines and more couldn't stop talking about "Alchemy of Souls," signifying its heightened success.

'Alchemy of Souls' Episode 16: Jang Uk Finally Meets His Estranged Father
In "Alchemy of Souls" episode 16, Lee Jae Wook (Jang Uk) and Crown Prince Go Won (Shin Seung Ho) work together in unraveling the secrets that lie behind the walls of the royal palace.

After Master Lee (Im Chul Soo) reveals that there are soul shifters residing in the palace, Go Won grows more suspicious about the royal queen.
He then goes to Gaenam Village to look for the eunuch who has been working for the queen, who's petrified after running wild. Go Won bumps into Jang Uk who also has the same agenda as him.

They both learn that the shaman who was missing for more than 20 years shifted souls with the queen, and has been creating ice stones to prevent the soul shifters like her from running wild.

Meanwhile, Mu Deok (Jung So Min) once again feels the surge of energy inside her body after stepping foot at the Jinyowon abode. Unbeknownst to everyone, she's the long lost daughter of the clan.
At the end of the episode, Jang Uk meets his father, Jang Gang (Joo Sang Wook), who has been in hiding for decades.
