"Dr. Romantic" has been one of the few series that received the go signal to release new seasons, thanks to its gripping and immersive storylines helmed with empathy, comedy and romance elements.
Season 1 aired in 2016 while Season 2 dominated the year 2020. Both installments received an average rating of 27%, a milestone-level score.

On Wednesday, September 15, a representative from SBS revealed that the drama is confirmed to produce its third season after thorough deliberation.
‘Dr Romantic’ To Release New Season— Will Ahn Hyo Seop, Lee Sung Kyung Reprise Roles?
The production unit stated that the drama has received great response and support from the public, and is now ready to share a new story that everyone will love.
With that said, they ask for fans' support and trust. "Dr. Romantic 3" begins its filming in the later part of September, and aims to release the work in early 2023.
Lee Sung Kyung, Ahn Hyo Seop To Join 'Dr. Romantic 3'
SBS TV also revealed the casting and production news for the upcoming season, raising anticipation and excitement to a whole new level.
Lee Sung Kyung and Ahn Hyo Seop, who headlined the second season of the drama, will reprise their roles in the upcoming season.

The two will be a part of the main cast, while Season 1 stars Yoo Yeon Seok and Seo Hyun Jin will also participate in the series with supporting roles.
Han Suk Kyu will also be reprising his roles, making him the only original cast member to headline all three installments of "Dr. Romantic."
In particular, scriptwriters Kang Eun Kyung and Lim Hye Min and director Yoo In Suk will be responsible for spearheading the work.
