Song Joong Ki Agrees to Star in ‘Hwaran’ With ‘No Pay’ For THIS Reason
Song Joong Ki will have his back-to-back projects after confirming to join the movie "Hwaran."
It can be recalled that his agency, HISTORY D&C, shared in June that the top star is positively reviewing the offer to headline the low-budget noir film directed by Kim Chang Hoon.
Song Joong Ki Joins 'Hwaran' With 'No Guarantee'
Interestingly, following Song Joong Ki's confirmation to appear in "Hwaran" his label shared that the award-winning actor stars in the forthcoming movie with "no guarantee."
In a report cited by a media outlet, having "no guarantee" means that the top star will be participating in the movie with no payment for his appearance.
For Song Joong Ki, he expressed his eagerness to appear in "Hwaran" despite the unusual setup given that he is among the sought-after and not to mention one of the highest-paid K-drama actors.
He said that he is "happy to appear in 'Hwaran'" and looks forward to working with the director and fellow stars.
"Since it's a project that will be a new challenge for me, it feels new. I'm looking forward to the competitive and passionate set that we will create together with the director and actors," he said.
In a separate report, an official reportedly told an outlet that Song Joong Ki agrees to star in "Hwaran" despite the movie having a low budget and would be acting with no pay "because he wanted to give a little help to the production of the movie."
Joining Song Joong Ki as the lead star is the singer-songwriter BIBI who recently confirmed her appearance and Hong Sa Bin.
The upcoming noir film depicts the story of Yeon Gyu, played by Hong Sa Bin who is determined to escape his current situation.,
However, things changed when he met Chi Geon, portrayed by Song Joong Ki, who is the middle boss of the organization.
With this, the duo embarks on a dangerous world following their risky choices.

According to the production company, Song Joong Ki is set to showcase a strong character transformation as he plays the role of Chi Geon.
On the other hand, Song Joong Ki's agency, HISTORY D&C, will produce the movie but the production participation was not connected to the top star's decision regarding the fee.
Song Joong Ki's New Drama 'The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate'
"Hwaran" is among the top star's upcoming projects as Song Joong Ki is set to have another movie "Bogota: City of Lost" and his soon-to-be-released drama "The Youngest Son of a Conglomerate."
Fans would get to see the South Korean heartthrob on the small screen following the success of his tvN series "Vincenzo" with Jeon Yeo Been.
As for Song Joong Ki's new drama, he plays Yoon Hyun Woo, an employee of Sunyang Group for years who died after being framed by his boss.
Interestingly, he was reborn as the family's youngest son Jin Do Joon and plans to take his revenge and take over the conglomerate.
Joining the actor as lead stars are Shin Hyun Bin and Lee Sung Min from "Juvenile Justice."
