IU is proving her reign in music and acting as the top star hit another spectacular milestone at the 27th Chunsa Film Art Awards. 

With the theme "Move Again" the annual ceremony, held on September 30, honors individuals that showcased remarkable contributions in the movie industry. 

The 27th Chunsa International Film Festival has a total of 12 categories which include Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actor, Best Supporting Actress, Best New Actor, Best New Actress, Best Director, Best New Director, Best Screenplay, and more. 

For this year's ceremony, IU bagged a major award for her role in "Broker."

The singer-actress took home her first ever acting award after taking home the Rookie of the Year at the 27th Chunsa Film Art Awards. 

The recognition was for her performance as the single parent Moon So Young in the drama film "Broker."

In this category, IU beats fellow nominees Bang Min Ah for "Snowball," Kim Hye Yoon in "The Girl on a Bulldozer" and Shin Si Ah for the movie "The Witch: Part 2. The Other One."

Unfortunately, the singer-actress was not able to personally receive the award after IU tested positive for COVID-19. 

She was classified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19 after her work trip in Italy for Milan Fashion Week 2022.

Best Supporting Actress: Oh Na Ra "Perhaps Love"

Best New Actor: Mu Jin Sung for "Perhaps Love"

Best New Actress: Lee Ji Eun "Broker"

Technical Award: Choi Young Hwan in Cinematography "Escape from Mogadishu"

Special Award - Chunsa International Director's Award: Kore-eda Hirokazu "Broker"

Most Popular Movie: "The Roundup"

Achievement Award: Lee Jang Ho and Shin Seung Soo

From Making Head Turns at Cannes Film Festival 2022 to Back to Back Projects

Ahead of the movie's theatrical release, "Broker" was among the few selected K-contents screened at the Cannes Film Festival 2022. 

The Kore-eda Hirokazu- directed film was invited to compete at the prestigious Palme d'Or where Song Kang Ho made history as the first male South Korean who won the Best Actor award, playing Sang Hyun. 

As for IU, the singer-actress made heads turn as she strut the red carpet with her effortless beauty and oozing charm. 

Besides "Broker" IU will headline an upcoming movie "Dream" opposite Park Seo Joon.
