Kim Sung Cheol To Star in New Thriller Movie 'Owl'

Following his notable performance in the SBS romance series "Our Beloved Summer," Kim Sung Cheol finally made his first public appearance. The actor met the audience at the production briefing of his upcoming movie "Owl."

The conference was held at CGV in Yongsan, Seoul on the morning of October 18. The male star went on a drama hiatus after almost eight months and is now ready to conquer the silver screen with his new thriller film. 

"Owl" tells the story of a man's struggle to reveal the truth after witnessing the death of Crown Prince Sohyun by the blind acupuncturist Kyung Soo, who can only see at night.

Apart from Kim Sung Cheol, these Korean stars are also joining the movie's star-studded cast: Ryu Jun Yeol, Yoo Hae Jin, Choi Moo Sung, Park Myung Hoon, Cho Sung Ha, Ahn Eun Jin, and Cho Yoon Seo.

"Owl" is directed by Ahn Tae Jin. The movie will be released in theaters starting November 23.

"Owl" marks Kim Sung Cheol's first film after two years following "Kim Ji-Young: Born 1982" in 2019. Aside from his soon-to-release movie, Kim Sung Cheol has no confirmed drama yet.

Kim Sung Cheol's Notable Characters Through the Years

Kim Sung Cheol impressed the viewers with his charisma and versatility.  Since he began acting in 2017 with the classic drama "Prison Playbook," Kim Sung Cheol made several character transformations that showcased his fluid acting skills.

Some of his notables roles are: Beobja in the "Prison Playbook," Ipsaeng in the 2019 fantasy series "Arthdal Chronicles," and Han Hyun Ho in "Do You Like Brahms?"

Jung Ui Myeong in Netflix's "Sweet Home," Kim Ji Woong in "Our Beloved Summer," and Hwang Min Seong in the legal drama "Vincenzo" where he reunited with "Arthdal Chronicles" co-star Song Joong Ki.
