'Backstreet Rookie' To Have Spin-Off + Lee Sun Bin Courted To Play the Protagonist

According to the news cited by YTN on October 25, Lee Sun Bin is being courted to headline the upcoming "Backstreet Rookie" spin-off, or "Super Couple" (working title).

Lee Sun Bin's agency Initial Entertainment also released a statement, confirming the female star received a title role proposal and is positively reviewing it.

"Super Couple" depicts what happens when a former NIS secret agent, who lost her love while protecting the country, reunites with her ex-chaebol lover at a convenience store.

Interestingly, it will tell more about the unpredictable comic romance between a handsome store manager and part-timer who clash with each other. It is expected to show an affectionate, sweet, yet chaotic romance between Min Sa Rang and Cha Joo Hyun.

If Lee Sun Bin accepts the offer, she will play the role of Min Sa Rang, a former legendary NIS agent, who becomes a manager at a convenience store, and coincidentally reconnects with her ex-boyfriend and head of the convenience store, Cha Joo Hyun.

Though the possible female protagonist has been revealed, viewers are curious who among the hottest actors today will take the character of Cha Joo Hyun.

Furthermore, "Super Couple" is in the middle of casting major roles and is scheduled to start filming this year.

Joining Lee Sun Bin are Jung Eun Ji, Han Sun Hwa, and Choi Siwon in the upcoming "Work Later, Drink Now" sequel.
