While the whole South Korea mourns the passing of hundreds of people during the Itaewon Stampede, "Under the Queen's Umbrella" star Bae In Hyuk delivers a heartfelt message for a friend. 

The actor took to social media to express his sadness and joined the country commemorating those who lost their lives in the tragedy. 

Bae In Hyuk's Instagram Featured a Post dedicated to a Friend

On his Instagram stories, the actor posted a black and white photo with a phrase that says "PRAY FOR ITAEWON." Along with it is a short message hinting that one of Bae In Hyuk's friends was among those who died in the tragedy. 

"I pray for the well-being of the deceased. Friend, you must be happy," he said in a post. 

According to ABC News, at least 153 dead and 82 are injured in the Itaewon stampede; however, officials in South Korea noted that the death toll in the tragedy might continue to rise in the coming days. 

It has been said that the victims are mostly in their 20s who were out celebrating Halloween as the COVID-19 restriction eases.

Due to the fatality of the incident, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared a national mourning period from Sunday, October 2, and will run through November 5. 

South Korean Celebrities Send Condolences Amid the Itaewon Stampede Tragedy

Apart from Bae In Hyuk, several South Korean celebrities in various industries expressed their grief following the shocking tragedy. 

Soccer superstar Son Heung Min shared a commemorative photo expressing his condolences saying that he is "heartbroken" to be reading such devastating news. 

The same goes for BIGBANG's G-Dragon and DinDin who shared posts with the hashtag, prayforItaewon while "Under the Queen's Umbrella" star ​​Kim Hye Soo, who reposted news headlines on the Itaewon tragedy.

The 24-year-old actor is among the stars gaining popularity amid the hype of the historical K-drama "Under the Queen's Umbrella."

Bae In Hyuk took the role of the Crown Prince and Kim Hye Soo's on-screen son. 

However, his character surprised the viewers after the young royal died of a mysterious death. 

In one of Bae In Hyuk's Instagram posts, he thanked the fans and viewers who love and have supported the drama since its premiere. 

"Although it's a special appearance, thank you for loving Seja all this time," he wrote, adding "It was short, but I learned a lot. Continue to watch the original broadcast of "Under the Queen's Umbrella."

Apart from the tvN series, Bae In Hyuk is also among the lead stars of "Cheer Up", and "Why Her?" and "At a Distance, Spring Is Green."

The actor also swooned fans with his charm in the hit K-drama "My Roommate Is a Gumiho," with Lee Hyeri and Jang Ki Yong.
