NUEST Ren To Couple With Kim Ji Eun in Upcoming Drama Debut

Former NUEST member Ren is finally making his official debut on the small screen after 10 years in the entertainment industry!

On November 8, Big Planet Made Entertainment, Ren's agency, announced that Ren was cast in the forthcoming drama "Waiting For You For A Long Time"!

Originally, "Jinxed At First" actor Na In Woo was supposed to take on the lead role but due to some reasons, he declined. Ren was then offered the role after seeing that he was fit for the acting role.

"Waiting For You For A Long Time" (literal title) is a mystery crime thriller work that marks Ren's acting debut in the small screen, 10 years after establishing his career as a singer and as a musical star.

In particular, Ren will appear opposite "One Dollar Lawyer" actress Kim Ji Eun who previously confirmed her participation. In the series, Ren will take on the role of Oh Jin Sang, a detective who works hard to avenge his younger brother, Oh Jin Woo.

Interestingly, Ren will also play the role of Oh Jin Woo, heralding a two character role, raising the fans' excitement.

Further drama details including the final cast lineup, production unit and release date haven't been released yet so stay tuned for more updates!

On the other hand, Ren has been active for more than a decade as a member of the boy group NUEST. He has also shown his versatility as an active solo singer.

NUEST Ren's Previous Works, Musicals and More

Apart from his career as a singer, former NUEST Ren is also a renowned musical actor. He made his musical debut in 2020 in "Jamie," taking on the lead role.

Like many television stars, he has quite a number of musicals under his belt including "Hedwig and the Angry Inch," "Bungee Jumping of Their Own" and most recently, "The Three Musketeers."

Unbeknownst to many, Ren has also starred in a Chinese drama and a Japanese independent movie, proving his versatile charms and diverse talents. In addition to that, he also made a special appearance in the KBS drama "Jeon Woo Chi."

With that said, anticipation for NUEST Ren's acting debut is rising. He is expected to deliver a work that contains emotional and dramatic elements through the character of Oh Jin Sang and Oh Jin Woo in "Waiting For You For A Long Time."
