Veteran South Korean actor Lee Hoon has talked openly about the problems he's had since his acting projects have been on hold for three years. He fears for his financial future and the long-term viability of his career. The 1994 debutant, known for his strong and masculine roles, is having trouble finding steady work, even though he keeps getting offers that haven't come through yet.

In the latest episode of KBS's "Unpredictable Fortunetellers," Lee Hoon recounted how multiple projects he was involved in over recent years were abruptly canceled or postponed.
Per Koreaboo, the actor said that the K-Drama he was filming in 2024 was scrapped. Another project scheduled to shoot in the U.S. in 2025 was indefinitely postponed due to various issues. Even a project planned for this year has been pushed back indefinitely due to budget constraints.
Lee explained that the repeated delays have left him at a critical juncture in his acting career. Despite these setbacks, he still receives offers but none have come through. It's that lingering possibility that has made it difficult for him to let go. reflecting on his conflicted feelings about continuing in the industry.

According to Sports Seoul, show host Seo Jang Hoon, during the same broadcast, offered candid advice. He described Lee as diligent but noted that pride and stubbornness might be holding him back. Seo told Lee that he might need to let go of some of his pride and go after roles with more determination, even if that means taking on roles that are different from what he usually does.
Lee Hoon expressed his desperation clearly: "At this rate, I feel like I'm going to starve to death. I'm really desperate. I'm willing to audition for roles, too. I've even won acting awards. Please call me anytime. This is really hard."
Lee has been well-known for his strong screen presence and loyal fanbase since his first role in the 1994 K-Drama Seoul's Moon. But the entertainment industry is in a bad place right now, and he has had to deal with a lot of project cancellations, which puts him in a tough spot where he is not fighting for fame but just to keep working.
