K-drama villains will always be essential characters in every series. Despite being hated to the bone, they are, without a doubt, major contributors in making a work more enjoyable and interesting to watch.

Villains used to be played by males but over the years, diversity is seen even in the South Korean media. There are now many female stars who portrayed thrilling and engrossing roles which surely polarized the public.

Here are some of the female villains who have been loved and hated by the public viewers!

Kim So Yeon

Cheon So Jin, played by Kim So Yeon, is one of the most iconic villains in K-drama history. She was a crazy, selfish and mentally unhinged character that made "The Penthouse" what it is today.

She is a character that brings entertainment to the viewers because of her smart yet narcissistic ways that make the viewers confused whether to root or hate her.

Even when she expressed her remorse and tried to turn over a new leaf in the end, old habits just die hard.

Kim Yeo Jin

"Vincenzo" is a well-loved series all over the world as it stars big names like Song Joong Ki. In addition to that, the storyline is just unlike any other.

However, Choi Myung Hee, played by Kim Yeo Jin, also piques the viewers' interest. In the first few episodes, she was portrayed as the smart and adorable attorney.

She surprises everyone when she was revealed to be a murderous psychopath who was adamant to achieve her goals no matter what.

Choi Myung Hee is not only a deceitful woman but also a killer, which has fans running for their lives while still loving her portrayer, Kim Yeo Jin, as an A-grade actress!

Kim Min Jung

Like Kim Yeo Jin, actress Kim Min Jung also played the role of Jung Sun Ah, the equally cunning and murderous mad woman.

She left fans in confusion when she showed a hint of humanity in her. Jung Sun Ah also shows a bit of kindness in a few episodes. However, she goes back to her murderous ways as bad weeds don't die easily.

The fact that she kills anyone who tries to go against her ways without hesitation sends chills to viewers' spines, making her one of the worst villains ever.

Kim Hye Soo

In "Juvenile Justice," Kim Hye Soo took on the role of a juvenile judge who hates child offenders to the bone.

She doesn't care whether the child loses their lives inside a detention center as she believes that children who commit heinous crimes at such a young age don't change for the better.

"Juvenile Justice" tugs at the hearts of the viewers especially when Kim Hye Soo's past is revealed, making the people understand where she is coming from.

Although she's the main character of the show, she's also its own villain who believes in firm and coldhearted punishments without looking back.

Jin Kyung

In "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," Jin Kyung transformed into Park Eun Bin's estranged mother who secretly wants to take her down.

Unlike any other mother, she doesn't want her child to succeed in her chosen field. Instead, she will do anything just to keep and erase her unwanted memories to keep her name clear as a crystal.

Although she showed remorse at the end, she's still one of the worst mothers in South Korean television, making her a memorable polarizing character.
