The long wait is finally over! Lee Jae Wook and Go Yoon Jung's highly awaited romance drama "Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow" hits the small screen this weekend, delivering 10 brand new episodes!

Check out the things you should look forward to in the second installment of the most buzzworthy fantasy series of 2022!

1. Historical F4 Concept

Like the recurring concepts in K-dramas, the reverse harem trope is also one of the elements in "Alchemy of Souls" which appealed to the public.

While Jung So Min didn't sign to appear in Part 2, Go Yoon Jung, who played the role of Naksu, headlines the drama along with Lee Jae Wook, Hwang Minhyun and Shin Seung Ho. In Part 1, the viewers have seen how the three male leads tried to vie for Jung So Min's heart.

As the second part of the series begins three years after the initial timeline, it's interesting to see how they will compete for Go Yoon Jung's heart, now that her soul has returned to her original body in the series.

The unique visuals and love lines of the main cast are also a thing to anticipate in the series. In particular, Yoo In Soo, Oh My Girl Arin, Yoo Jun Sang and Oh Na Ra also reprised their roles.

2. A Multitude of Engrossing Genres

Though it focuses more on the fantasy and romance elements, "Alchemy of Souls" boasts a wide variety of genres.

It has gravity-defying action scenes as well as lighthearted comical moments in every other episode. The series also has political bits to it, adding more depth to the already engrossing narrative.

This is why "Alchemy of Souls" became one of the most watched series last summer. Don't miss its second installment this winter!

3. Breathtaking Action and Battle Scenes

While fans check out dramas for its romance and heart-fluttering storyline, "Alchemy of Souls" proves that it's more than that!

The drama guarantees engaging moments along the way that will surely have viewers at the edge of their seats. The usage of both CGI and trained swordsmanship from the actors, as well as the beautifully curated choreography of the fight scenes will take everyone's hearts away.

Even in the teasers that were released, "Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow" is already a treat to avid K-drama fans!

4. An Exciting Anti-Hero Story

What makes "Alchemy of Souls" more interesting is that both of the main characters played by Lee Jae Wook and Go Yoon Jung are anti-heroes in their own stories.

Lee Jae Wook's character Jang Uk was born into a noble family that is respected by many. However, he's the weakest link among his peers due to his once closed gate of energy that prevented him from becoming a mage.

Now that he's considered one of the greatest of their kind, he's seen as a threat to the throne by the Crown Prince after learning about Jang Uk's real identity. Meanwhile, Go Yoon Jung's character Naksu has been the villain of the story since Part 1.

Unbeknownst to everyone, she was a sweet girl brainwashed and controlled by the most evil villain in the place. In Part 2, she is expected to clear her name up and live the life she deserves.
