‘Alchemy of Souls’ Episode 23-24: Lee Jae Wook Saves Go Yoon Jung From The Queen
Lee Jae Wook announced Go Yoon Jung as his betrothed in the previous episode of "Alchemy of Souls: Light and Shadow." Because of this, the latter becomes the target of envy of everyone in Daeho.

'Alchemy of Souls' Episode 23: Jin Bu Yeon Tries To Win Jang Uk's Heart
Previously, Jin Bu Yeon (Go Yoon Jung) was announced as Jang Uk's (Lee Jae Wook) wife, which shook the Unanimous Assembly as well as the powerful mages in Daeho.
However, Jin Ho Gyeong (Park Eun Hye) refuses to accept their marriage.
When Jin Bu Yeon returns to Jang Uk's home after the incident at the Unanimous Assembly, she touches Naksu's (Jung So Min) sword and suddenly, a string of memories flashes in her head.
She rushes to Jang Uk to share her excitement, only to be disappointed when the other refuses to be close to her.
Although hurt, she accepts her fate, especially that they married one another for their own personal pleasures.
Jin Mu's Suspicions Intensify
Knowing how both Naksu and Jin Bu Yeon look like, Jin Mu (Jo Jae Yoon) orders So Yi (Seo Hye Won) to abduct Jin Bu Yeon.
On the other hand, Jin Bu Yeon visits the soul shifters' grave and sees Naksu's stone tower. When she gets closer to touch it, the tower suddenly collapses and the blue jade that Naksu owns is revealed.

She then remembers new memories but like the usual, Jang Uk remains indifferent. Jin Mu also realizes that Jin Bu Yeon sees energy, like the real Jin Bu Yeon, which leaves him in confusion.
Meanwhile, the Queen invites every fair lady in Daeho to a banquet for Jin Bu Yeon to get killed by Naksu.
It was all Jin Mu's plan to pin everything to Jang Uk, who's married to the Jinyowon heir. With this, the relics and artifacts that could help them perform the alchemy of souls would be under the royal palace's care.
'Alchemy of Souls' Episode 24: King Orders Jang Uk To Kill Naksu
So Yi is ordered by Jin Mu to spread the rumors that Naksu is back to kill Jin Bu Yeon. Unfortunately, Seo Yul (Hwang Minhyun) sees right through her plans.
Elsewhere, the royal palace orders Jang Uk to kill Naksu. While he thinks it's a rumor, Jang Uk obliges to ease the people's worries.
Thankfully, Maidservant Kim (Oh Na Ra) and Park Jin (Yoo Jun Sang) worked together with Jin Ho Gyeong, and clipped Jin Bu Yeon's nails to mimic her appearance.
The relic Gwiseo became her doppelganger, which was the one who gets killed by a soul shifter who's believed to be Naksu.
At the end of the episode, Jang Uk mourns for Naksu's death and accepts his fate. Before drifting to sleep, he kisses Jin Bu Yeon, thinking she was Naksu.
