Choi Tae Joon To End 2022 With New Drama 'Island'

It is indeed an early Christmas gift for Choi Tae Joon's fans as the actor is ready to make his public appearance through the forthcoming fantasy-action series "Island."

Based on a news report on December 23, the "So I Married an Anti-Fan" lead star is revealed to join Cha Eun Woo, Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, and Sung Joon in the newest drama. The long-awaited show is slated to premiere on December 30 via TVING.

In addition, Choi Tae Joon is said to have completed all of his scenes for "Island" before he tied the knot to Park Shin Hye in January this year. This production signals the actor's first returning project following his marriage, which raised anticipation.

Meanwhile, the male star recently greeted the audience with his short appearance in tvN's "Twenty Five, Twenty On" last February, where he showed off his mature visuals.

Furthermore, he is expected to exhibit a new kind of synergy with the drama's cast members. 

What To Look Forward To in Choi Tae Joon's Upcoming Series 'Island'

Apart from its star-studded cast, the brand new series will deliver a unique storyline. It is set in the backdrop of Jeju Island and follows the journey of three individuals who are fated to meet each other and fight against evil trying to destroy the world.

Ban (Kim Nam Gil) is raised to protect the world against evil. He grew up doing training in order to become a weapon. But aside from all the chasing with monsters, he is a man who needs a woman to end the curse in his life.

Lee Da Hee is Woo Mi Ho, the only daughter of the Daehan Group's chairman. Due to her stubbornness, she is sent by her father to Jeju for a few months. She works as a teacher, but her life becomes more interesting when she meets Ban and the young exorcist John.

Cha Eun Woo, on the other hand, takes the character of Father John, a.k.a Yohan. He is a priest at the Holy Trinity Cathedral in New York. Even though he grew up in the States, he wants to spend his adult years in his homeland, Korea. He spends time in Jeju and didn't expect the adventurous journey he'll experience with Mi Ho and Ban.

Lastly, Sung Joon is Kung Tan. He is loyal to Ban and works for him for years to defeat monsters. However, in a sudden shift of events, he will come to oppose Ban.

Though Choi Tae Joon's participation is confirmed, his upcoming role is not yet revealed to keep the thrill before the drama's release.
