PD Shin Won Ho, the man behind the success of the "Reply" series, opens up about having "Reply 2002."

As obtained by a media outlet, the director appeared in a special reunion episode of "Reply 1997," under Lee Si Eon's Youtube channel, with lead stars Seo In Guk, Lee Ho Won, and Eun Ji Won joining the video.

In the video, PD Shin Won Ho shared honest thoughts about the challenges of creating another sequel.

In one instance, the director revealed why 2002 will be the "hardest to portray" if ever "Reply 2002" gets a green light. According to PD Shin Won Ho, one factor would be the copyright issues for the World Cup.

"The 'Reply' series needs a lot of props, including cultural products, songs, movies, and dramas, and it will be complicated to solve copyright issues," he explained in the video as cited by a media outlet.

Moreover, the renowned director admitted that it is "not easy" for him to talk about the "Reply" series and still have PTSD about it.

To recall, of the highlights of South Korea in 2002 is the 17th FIFA World Cup, also known as the Korea-Japan 2002, where the two countries hosted the annual cup.

The game was held on at International Stadium in Yokohama, Japan from May 31 to June 30, where South Korea bagged fourth place in the 2002 tournament.

As for the previous season, the director revealed that it took them years to get the copyrights of the Olympics in Seoul for "Reply 1988."

"We have to call the IOC headquarters in Switzerland. I paid for one and a half or two years for the copyright and didn't renew it," he said, adding that every scene related to the Olympics in re-runs was blurred out.

Interestingly, when asked about his thoughts on re-watching some clips of the hit drama series, Director Shin Won Ho says he "feels so cringy" seeing some scenes.

For him, he felt like he sees "many immature parts" in his past directing and editing, but confessed that his "first love" was "Reply 1997."

The reason for it was because "it was the most fun to do."

"Reply 1997" is the first season of the entire series. Aired on June 2012 the youth-related drama stars IU, Seo In Guk, Lee Si Eon, Eun Ji Won, and more.

It was followed by Reply 1994" in 2013 with Go Ah Ra, Jung Woo, and Yoo Yeon Seok, playing the main character.

As for the third and final season is "Reply 1988" headlined by Lee Hyeri, Ryu Jun Yeol, Go Kyung Pyo, Park Bo Gum, and more.
