Jo Jung Suk’s Reason For Accepting ‘Hospital Playlist’ is Because of THIS Shin Won Ho’s Drama

Jo Jung Suk shares an unexpected revelation regarding his appearance in the smash hit K-drama "Hospital Playlist."

The 42-year-old versatile star appeared as a guest in the recent episode of You Quiz on the Block" where he spoke about his breakthrough performance in the tvN medical series and being a husband to Gummy and father to their baby.

In the interview, as obtained by a media outlet, he mentioned what promoted him to star in the Shin Won Ho-directed drama.

One of Jo Jung Suk's remarkable series is playing the charming and funny doctor Lee Ik Jun in "Hospital Playlist."

Released in 2020 the medical series gained huge popularity among viewers and eventually released its second season a year later.

Now, despite the uncertainty of "Hospital Playlist" having season 3, Jo Jung Suk dishes on the secret story of him joining the drama series.

He tells "You Quiz on the Block" that he joined the medical series because of the director's work in the "Reply" series.

Jo Jung Suk revealed that he is a fan and loved watching the coming-of-age series and was stunned to hear that the director and screenwriter Lee Woo Jung is set to create another spectacular K-drama.

Interestingly, director Shin Won Ho appeared in the talk show and explained the character of Lee Ik Jun.

"The core of Lee Ik Jun's character is, in fact, self-esteem," he said revealing the reason why he is very chatty and the funny man of the group.

"He is talkative, likes jokes, and is funny. He needs to have the self-esteem to be cool," the director explained.

However, the director also added the similarity between Jo Jung Suk and his "Hospital Playlist" role.

"A character that looks light, but needs to have a sense of weight. Jo Jung Suk, i I think of that a lot when I look at it. He's a friend with a sense of self-esteem that makes me feel like 'I'm a pretty weighty person' even when he acts like a funny person."

The show's host Yoo Jae Suk went to ask the actor about his family and his similarity with his only child.

Jo Jung Suk revealed that her daughter reminds him of himself during his childhood days, especially her facial expressions.

"I used to have a habit of pulling different facial expressions in the mirror when I was young, and she does that as well."

The actor married his longtime girlfriend Gummy in 2018 and was blessed with an adorable daughter in 2020.
