The 33-year-old actress began her acting career in 2010 in musicals and theatrical plays before venturing into short films and eventually, terrestrial television.

For years, Lim Ji Yeon struggled to create noise in the entertainment industry but thanks to her dedication, she was able to make a name on her own.

The actress boldly decided to take on a challenge and headlined the erotic film "Obsessed" in 2014 with Song Seung Heon, a senior who was 14 years older than her.

In the film, Lim Ji Yeon played the role of a battered wife who suffers from the sneaky love affair of her powerful husband in the backdrop of military-dominated 1969.

The actress bagged the Best New Actress award at the Buil Film Awards, Grand Bell Awards and Korean Film Actors' Guild Awards.

Lim Ji Yeon Cements Her Name As 'Queen of Explicit Scenes'

A year later, the actress returned to the silver screen with the historical film "The Treacherous," a sapphic erotic romance project that boasted the hottest explicit scenes in the history of South Korean media.

Lim Ji Yeon and her fellow female co-stars wore hanbok without an overcoat, revealing their chests which is certainly not every viewer's cup of tea.

Through this work, Lim Ji Yeon earned the title "Queen of Explicit Scenes," which gives both power and prejudice to the actress. But instead of taking it the wrong way, she sees this as a boost of confidence.

"Kissing and touching someone of the same sex intimidated me," Lim Ji Yeon confessed. "However, I felt comfortable in the process, thanks to my co-stars and caring staff."

Without a doubt, "Obsessed" and "The Treacherous" kickstarted Lim Ji Yeon's career to success as it opened more doors for her to star in works like "The Royal Gambler," "Welcome 2 Life" and more.

Lim Ji Yeon Receives High Praises For 'The Glory' Performance

In the later part of 2022, Lim Ji Yeon returned to the small screen as the villain in the revenge drama "The Glory" with Song Hye Kyo.

Lim Ji Yeon described the work as a "challenge" that she wants to conquer. She admitted that she was both drawn and shocked after reading the script.

In the series, she took on the role of a woman with a picture-perfect life but unbeknownst to many, she has a dark past that will be revealed by Song Hye Kyo's vengeful heart.

The actress received high praises for her first ever villain role. Thanks to her dedication and synchronization with her role, she was able to get under the viewers' skin, showing how effective she is as an actress.
