Starting the countdown before its much-awaited release, tvN dropped "The Heavenly Idol" main poster and showed a hint of the lead stars' upcoming characters.
Originally, the romantic-comedy series is based on the famous webtoon and web novel of the same name.
In the drama adaptation, Kim Min Gyu will play the High Priest Rembrary. Due to an unexpected mission, he suddenly finds himself in the body of Woo Yeon Woo, a member of the unpopular idol group "Wild Animal."

Opposite him is "Hi Bye Mama" star Go Bo Gyeol who takes the role of Kim Dal. She is a dedicated and supportive Woo Yeon Woo fan.
When her favorite idol starts insisting in the fifth year of his music career and tells her that he's actually High Priest Rembrary, she decides to become the boy group's manager to save his career.

tvN first introduced the viewers to the relationship that the lead stars will exhibit in the series.
In the released poster, Kim Dal is clad in a pink suit and places a crown on Rembrary's head, while his face is in shock.
It has been said that the crown symbolizes the power of a high priest and the success of an idol. The anticipation from the drama arises as many are curious about what lies in store for Rembrary's future and where devoted fan Kim Dal will lead him.
Aside from the beautiful poster, there's a caption that hints at Rembrary's desperation in his career journey, saying, "Dear God, please make me a successful idol."
"The Heavenly Idol" marks Kim Min Gyu's first drama following the success of "Business Proposal" in 2022. It is also his first acting project for this year.
The actor is ready for a major character transformation through this series. From being the introvert Secretary Cha Sung Hoon, Kim Min Gyu is set to become a priest-turned-idol and shows his duality for the first time.
Furthermore, "The Heavenly Idol" is slated to premiere beginning February 15 at 10:30 p.m. (KST) on tvN.
