'Kokdu: Season of Deity' Episodes 1: Creator Punishes Oh Hyun To Become The God of The Underworld

In "Kokdu Season of Deity" episode 1, the story started with the misfortune of Oh Hyun (Kim Jung Hyun) and Seol Hee (Im Soo Hyang), who betrayed their country to protect and preserve their past love. 

Because of the extreme love between a man and a woman, which showed their selfishness, and cost dozens of lives. The creator was angered by the tragedy and cursed Oh Hyun to become Kokdu, the god of the underworld, while Seol Hee was destined to repeat a cruel death. 

This tragic and sad love story raised the interest of the audience and is looking forward to how it will affect Kokdu and Seol Hee's life that will unfold in the future. 

Meanwhile, in the modern day-a doctor who has the same face as Seol Hee with a completely different aura appeared. She's struggling with her career and having a hard time with her life. 

She had no money and got fired due to the abuse of power by the patient's guardian, she fell down the stairs and miraculously saved her life with the help of a mysterious man. Interestingly, the man who helped her disappeared had the face of Oh Hyun, who is said to have become a god of the underworld. Their unexpected interaction raises questions if they were fated to have a connection with each other.

In addition, there's a ring necklace left by the man, which is an important clue to a new relationship. It was a ring that existed next to Oh Hyun and Seol Hee in the past.

'Kokdu: Season of Deity' Episode 2: Oh Hyun Recognized Seol Hee as Han Gye Yeol

Han Gye Jeol (Im Soo Hyang) mistook Do Jin Woo as the man who saved her. He is the head of one of the biggest departments at Pilsung Hospital. However, Do Jin Woo has a tragic past. He killed his mother in a medical accident arranged by an unknown person. 

Meanwhile, Kokdu, the god of the underworld, who descends to the earth every 99 years, possesses Do Jin Woo's body. It was the beginning of his new life on earth. He then asks the creator if he could meet the woman he loves, but the creator wants him to wait. 

As he continues living in the modern world, Kokdu begins killing people- who he thinks deserve to die. In this episode, it was also revealed that Chairman Pil Soo was the one who asked Joong Sik to kill Do Jin Woo.

On the other hand, Han Gye Jeol suffers from abuse after she was accused of filing a lawsuit against the hospital. Through the help of her brother, Han Chul, investigates the case of the male doctor. 

Han Gye Jeol found Kokdu and asked about what happened to Do Jin Woo. During their meeting, Kokdu puts Gye Jeol in more danger due to his words. He then notices that he follows whatever she tells him and, in the end recognizes her as the love of his life.
