While tattoos are currently on trend right now, Koreans are still iffy about this type of body art and are quite considered taboo in society. However, a number of Korean actresses are bold enough to display their tattoos.

From minimalist to loud designs, these K-drama actresses sport cool tattoos that have attracted the attention of the media and fans.

Nana

The former After School member shocked everyone when she graced the press conference of her Netflix series "Glitch" donning her new tattoos.

While some find it odd since most of her body ink is quite big and loud, some praised the idol-turned-actress for doing what she wanted and not minding what people think.

Interestingly, she once spoke about the issue with the public raising concerns if Nana's tattoos are real or just for her role.

As obtained by a median outlet, the 31-year-old beauty said she got the tattoos because she wanted to.

Moreover, she also explained that there's a deeper meaning behind her tattoos.

"I wanted to put meaning in each of her tattoos so I carefully chose the phrases or drawing for the tattoo," she said.

Gong Hyo Jin

One of the most sought-after stars and not to mention versatile K-drama actress, Gong Hyo Jin is unafraid to flaunt her tattoos on magazine covers.

She has a big tattoo on her left shoulder featuring a ribbon and a cross along the words laurel, lubere, and money.

In addition, she also has a small tattoo on her fingers with the word "love" and a peace sign on her left index finger.

Bae Suzy

The singer-actress is a fan of minimalist designs.

Bae Suzy's tattoo is hidden on her left finger featuring a little heart design.

As for the other, the "Start-Up" star surprised fans after she showed them in her Lancome shoot featuring a mini cross and a heart near her nape.

Moon Ga Young

During her appearance in Marie Claire, the actress teases viewers about whether her tattoo is real or not.

Moon Ga Young then showed off her back tattoo with a bird's wing design.

According to the actress she "really liked it" and says that the inspiration behind Moon ga Young's tattoo is her mom's dream when she was pregnant with the actress.

"She dreamed of an archeopteryx draped in jewels," she said, adding "So I turned that into a design and got it tattooed."

Han So Hee

Before her breakthrough fame in "The World of the Married" Han So Hee had multiple tattoos on her body.

She had two around her arms but chose to get them removed when she became an actress.

However, during her shoot with Balenciaga, Han So Hee's tattoo on her hip peaked through which only shows her love for body art.
