"Our Blooming Youth," which stars Park Hyung Sik, Jeon So Nee, Pyo Ye Jin, and more showcase an intense pilot episode as the historical K-drama airs its first episode.

Based on the novel "The Golden Hairpin," the tvN series depicts the story of a Crown Prince suffering from a mysterious curse.

On the other hand, Lady Min Jae Yi, played by Jeon So Nee, was accused of murdering her own family.

Interestingly, the Crown Prince and Lady Min Jae Yi developed romantic feelings amid the unfavorable situation that they had.

'Our Blooming Youth' Episode 1 Viewership

The tvN series kicks off with a promising start. According to Neilsen Korea cited that "Our Blooming Youth" episode 1 scored an average nationwide viewership rating of 4.219 percent, making it the most watch K-drama in its time slot.

Airing every Monday and Tuesday, tvN and TVING release a new episode of Park Hyung Sik and Jeon So Nee's drama.

'Our Blooming Youth' Episode 1 Recap

The season began with Crown Prince Yi Hwan waking up from a bad dream. He thought that he was trapped in the middle of the forest surrounded by mysterious spirits.

At the palace, rumor sparked that the young royal paralyzed his arm; hence, he couldn't move it. In addition, the servants heard a rumor that he killed his own brother to ascend to the throne.

Unfortunately, the rumors reached the King. Through his adviser Jo Won Bo, he wanted to prove the rumors were true about the prince's right hand, and with this, he asked permission from the King for the Crown Prince to lead the royal hunt.

If proven that the royal is physically disabled, he will have him deposed.

That is because he wanted his niece's son, Prince Myungngan, to be the next Crown Prince and not Yi Hwan.

"Our Blooming Youth" episode 1 also featured the devastating fate of Lady Min Jae Yi.

Authorities visited Han Sung On to deliver shocking news about his fiancee, Lady Jae Yi. It was revealed that she killed his own family and had his paramour or his secret lover as her ally.

A search was set up by the palace to find Lady Jae Yi dead or alive. As for Min Jae Yi, she claimed that he is innocent but the authorities thought that she was lying. With this, she needs to see the Crown Prince as instructed by her father.

She sensed that her parents' brutal death have something to do with the Crown Prince's safety.

In the latter part of the episode, she saw the Crown Prince, pointing a sword at his best friend Han Sung On, who turned out to be Jae Yi's fiancee. 

Meanwhile, the Crown Prince remembered a letter sent to him that contains a prophecy regarding his best friend. In a letter, it indicates that a close friend will betray him.

Will this be Han Sung On?
