‘Physical: 100’ Halts Press Conference Because of Controversies Involving Participants

"Physical:100" has canceled its press conference after some of the participants get involved in a string of controversies. 

One of the hottest Netflix survival games, the 9-part episode competition gathered the best of the best in the military, sports, and fitness industries. 

The show, which featured the 100 strongest contestants who are in hopes of winning a cash prize of 300 million KRW or around 245,000 USD. 

It not only featured sports Olympians and legends like Choo Sung Hoon, Yang Hak Seon, Yun Sung Bin, and more but also introduced men and women in special operations forces, fitness enthusiasts, YouTubers, and athletes. 

However, the Netflix reality show was forced to postpone its press conference because of the ongoing issues related to the participants. 

'Physical:100' Halts Press Conference

According to a media outlet, the streaming giant is scheduled to have a media briefing on February 28 at the CGV I-Park Mall in Seoul. 

The goal is for "Physical: 100" winner Woo Jin Yong to talk about his experience throughout the grueling competition. 

Furthermore, he is set to grace the special event with the show's producer Jang Ho Ki, along with the production team. 

Unfortunately, they chose to halt the press conference due to an "unpleasant incident" involving a cast. 

"We recently came across a report that one of the contestants on 'Physical: 100' was involved in an unpleasant incident," one of the representatives explained, adding "We decided that it was best to find out the details of the incident, so we have decided to cancel the press conference."

The news came after a "Physical:100" cast, who is also a former national team athlete referred to as "A" was accused of assault.

In addition, Kim Da Young also admitted the accusation of bullying but clarified that she never stole money or physically hurt anyone during her high school years. 

Adding to the list of controversy, the "Physical: 100" cast referred to as "B," who is said to be a national team athlete, is being investigated by the prosecution in November 2022 after his ex-girlfriend accused him of assault and threat after she tried to break up with him. 

Will There be Physical: 100 Season 2?

Although the Netflix reality show got caught up in various controversies, viewers are looking forward to seeing another season of "Physical:100."

Interestingly, the show hints at a possible season 2 during the finale episode; however, Netflix is yet to confirm whether the survival show will get renewed. 

If "Physical:100" season 2 gets a green light, it is safe to say that the show might air sometime in 2024 since the first season took 6 months to film.
