Kim Sae Ron sparks doubts from the netizens after the former child star revealed her current status 10 months after the drunk driving incident. 

The "The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim" star recently appeared in her first trial on charges of violating the Road Traffic Act. 

A different Kim Sae Ron attends the court as the actress seemed to lose weight and is dressed in a cardigan with her hair tied up. 

Kim Sae Ron's First Trial Highlights: Actress Faces a Fine of 20 Million KRW

 Together with her legal counsel, the 22-year-old actress attended her hearing at the 4th division of the Seoul Central District Court, Kim Sae Ron expressed her deep regret and apology following the incident that happened last 2022. 

According to media outlets, the former child star pleaded and promised that it will never happen again. 

"I regret my actions, and I'm reflecting on them," she said, adding that she also quit drinking and sold her car. 

Moreover, the actress also mentioned that she is experiencing financial issues right now since she is also the head of the family. 

"I'm the breadwinner of my family, and it's been difficult for me to make ends meet. Please have mercy on me," she said. 

Despite her plea, Kim Sae Ron was fined 20 million KRW or around 15,000 USD, while the passenger whom she was with during the time of the incident is required to pay a fine of 5 million KRW.

Netizens Not Convinced on Kim Sae Ron's Plea During the First Trial

According to a media outlet, the public has mixed reactions regarding the update on Kim Sae Ron's drunk driving charges. 

As mentioned in an outlet some pointed out that she owns an asset worth billions of won and previously appeared in tvN's "On and Off" in 2020, where she lives in a luxurious residential-commercial complex located in Seongdong-gu, Seoul believed to be amounting to 2.3 billion won per unit.

In addition, she previously own a luxury vehicle worth 50 million won, which she sold due to the penalties and settlement due to the drunk driving incident. 

With this, others questioned whether this is just for publicity saying "Isn't it a lie to say that life is hard?"

To recall, Kim Sae Ron's parents are still young while her younger siblings, Kim Ah Ron and Kim Ye Ron, are both active as actors. 

On the other hand, the actress was forced to take a part-time job at a cafe to pay off the settlement and penalties caused by the incident. 

As for her career in showbiz, her contract with GOLD Medalist was not renewed, and also dropped out from her supposed-to-be comeback series "Trolley."
