Cho Seung Woo has finally returned to the screen with his new series "Divorce Attorney Shin," as it marked his first drama after two years of hiatus, it might also be the actor's next successful project. 

'Divorce Attorney Shin' Premiered With Good Rating

JTBC's "Divorce Attorney Shin" kicked off with a good start and had an opening viewership rating of 7.3 percent during its pilot week. The newly released legal drama managed to grab the viewers' interest with its comic, realistic messages and emotional scenes despite the familiar take on the legal genre. 

One thing that stands out is lead actor Cho Seung Woo, who made an interactive transformation from a funny to a cool character on screen.

But even before he established himself as an excellent actor, Cho Seung Woo had humble beginnings in his career.

Director Im Kwon Taek was the first person who brought the actor into the acting industry through the casting of the film "Chunhyang," where Cho Seung Woo beat more than a thousand auditionees. 

Interestingly, it was one of the first Korean films to attend Cannes and Cho Seung Woo was only 19 when he debuted on the red carpet of the prestigious international event.

But it was not an easy journey for the actor. He almost quit acting due to several challenges that came his way. Luckily, he had his breakthrough in 2005 when he starred in the movie "Marathon" where five million tickets were sold out, bringing his career to the next level. 

He won the Best Actor at the 2006 Grand Bell Awards and achieved a series of successes in his works such as "The Classic," "Tazza," "The Sword with No Name," and more. In 2014 the actor was reported to earn more than 500 million won as appearance fees in the movie "Inside Men." The moviegoers accumulated seven million tickets, marking it as best selling rated R movie at the Korean box office.

Apart from acting on screen, Cho Seung Woo also made his name known in the theater. Some of his plays are "This is the Moment," "Jekyll & Hyde," and "Hedwig and the Angry Inch."

After almost a decade, Cho Seung Woo got his first small screen appearance in "The King's Doctor" in 2013. The award-winning actor is more focused on working with films. Though he is not that active in doing series, there's no doubt that each of his drama appearances gained a huge number of viewers who were amazed by his jaw-dropping performances. 

Following his previous dramas "God's Gift: 14 Days," "Life," "Stranger 2," and "Sisyphus: The Myth," Cho Seung Woo's new series "Divorce Attorney Shin" might be his next successful work.
