Despite its release, the movie is being dragged into a controversy.

According to the report by a media outlet, several scenes have recently involved a controversy related to the controversial Korean online community Ilbe, which is known for its right-wing political views, racism, misogyny, and hate speech towards small groups.

Director Byun Sung Hyun Under Fire for 'Kill Bok Soon'

In particular, the "Ilbe" scenes pointed out by the viewers appeared at the beginning of the movie. It has been explained that the envelope containing the murder contract has a red seal, and "Suncheon-Jeolla" is written on it.

Adding to it are the envelopes, which show the locations "Seoul-Korea" and "Vladivostok-Russia," are sealed with the blue one.

Apart from these, some questioned whether the movie implied that Ilbe users slandered Jeolla-do residents as pro-North Koreans and insulted them in the past.

To recall, in 2017, Director Byun Sung Hyun was embroiled in an "Ilbe" controversy due to his "inappropriate" remarks in his movie "The Merciless."

With his new work, there are also controversial parts as it accused some known personalities in Korea of being killers.

People who have seen the information being talked about in the movie shared their mixed reactions about the film.

"I feel sorry for the actors."

"It's hateful."

"I won't watch this movie."

"We need to listen to the director's opinion also."
