Known as the Oscars in South Korea, fans can't wait to see celebrities compete as Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 nominees have been selected. 

The much awaited ceremony is scheduled on April 28 at 5: 30 pm KST which will take place at Paradise City in Incheon. 

The 59th Baeksang Arts Award, which will be hosted by the lovely trio Shin Dong Yup, Bae Suzy, and Park Bo Gum, will be aired live through JTBC, JTBC2, and JTBC4, while global viewers could watch it via TikTok. 

Interestingly, the association has presented deserving nominees from tv, movies, and theaters.

Kim Ji Won for "My Liberation Notes"

With a slew of hit K-dramas released in 2022, among the first few series that created a major buzz is JTBC's "My Liberation Notes.

Lead star Kim Ji Won scored Baeksang Arts Awards 2023's Best Actress nomination for her role Yeom Mi Jung, the youngest sibling of Lee El and Lee Min Ki's characters. 

Besides her amazing performance, viewers also love her chemistry with Son Seok Koo, who was also nominated for Best Actor. 

Their team up was highly praised by the viewers, dubbing them as the "worship couple."

Kim Hye Soo for "Under the Queen's Umbrella"

From her exceptional acting in Netflix's "Juvenile Justice," Kim Hye Soo once again showed her versatility and why she deserves the nomination at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 for her role in "Under the Queen's Umbrella."

Park Eun Bin for "Extraordinary Attorney Woo"

"Extraordinary Attorney Woo" created a huge craze in 2022 as the public loved Park Eun Bin's character. 

In the hit ENA series, she took the titular role and played the 27-year-old rookie lawyer Woo Young Woo. 

Despite being diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder, she managed to graduate from law school at the prestigious Seoul National University. Moreover, she has an impressive memory and creative thought process which made her stand out in her field. 

Park Eun Bin perfectly portrayed Woo Young Woo which made why she deserved the nod at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023. 

Song Hye Kyo for "The Glory"

From one-hit K-drama to the other, Song Hye Kyo's "The Glory" was nominated for Best Drama while the Hallyu star received a nomination for Best Actress category. 

Viewers saw how the actress moved from the romance and rom-com genre to portray the revenge-driven Moon Dong Eun in "The Glory."

Bae Suzy for "Anna"

Despite the controversy, there's no denying that Bae Suzy delivered a Baeksang Arts Award worthy of acting for her role in "Anna."

The idol-actress not only perfectly portrayed the titular role but also showcase exceptional acting for a dual role.
