After nominees for the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 were officially announced the public express their support for their beloved celebrities who scored a nod at the upcoming ceremony. 

Known as the Oscars in South Korea, it recognized the contribution of various shows, movies, and theatres in the entertainment industry. 

As for this year's highly anticipated event, the candidates were chosen based on the 

dramas, shows, and films that were released or aired between April 1, 2022, and March 31, 2023. 

Scheduled on April 28, 2023, at 5:30 p.m. KST, viewers will get to see their beloved actors and actress compete in the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 will be live-streamed via JTBC and TikTok.

Son Seok Koo

2022 is definitely the year for Son Seok Koo as the versatile star made a huge noise after his back-to-back project earned praise from viewers. 

Besides the record-breaking "The Roundup" where he played the new villain character, Son Seok Koo captured the hearts of viewers with his amazing performance as Mr. Gu in "My Liberation Notes."

The 16-part episode K-drama gained much popularity, especially with his on-screen chemistry with Kim Ji Won who played Yeon Mi Jung, Lee El, and Lee Min Ki's youngest sibling. 

With this, the duo earned the moniker "worship couple" due to their intense loveliness. 

Lee Byung Hun 

Another K-drama that made a mark in 2022 is the omnibus-style series "Our Blues."

Lee Byung Hun, who is paired with Shin Min Ah scored a nomination for his portrayal of the Jeju native Lee Dong Suk. 

Interestingly, besides the Best Actor category, "Our Blues" is also nominated for Best Drama and will be competing against "My Liberation Notes," "The Glory," "Extraordinary Attorney Woo," and "Little Women."

Lee Sung Min 

While several netizens were surprised that Song Joong Ki failed to enter the Best Actor category, his co-star and veteran actor Lee Sung Min was nominated for the same category. 

There's no doubt why the 54-year-old star earned a nod, especially with his performance as the might Jin Yang Chul, Soonyang Group's founder, and Jin Do Jin's grandfather. 

Lee Sung Min delivered an exceptional performance, making "Reborn Rich" score double-digit ratings just a few episodes since it aired. 

Jung Kyung Ho

Jung Kyung Ho made a bold comeback to the small screen after he headlined the rom-com series "Crash Course in Romance" with Jeon Do Yeon. 

The duo made viewers hooked up with the show's episodes, especially with their undeniable chemistry. 

Choi Min Sik

Last but not least for Baeksang Arts Awards 2023 nominee for the Best Actor category is Choi Min Sik as he took the role of a big boss in Disney+ "Casino."

At the height of the series, the veteran actor also topped movie star brand reputation rankings for March 2023, beating Song Joong Ki and Son Seok Koo.
