‘Dr Romantic 3’: Reasons to Watch Han Suk Kyu’s Medical K-Drama
One of the most anticipated K-dramas of 2023 is none other than "Dr. Romantic 3."
Viewers are hoping to see the return of the Doldam Hospital family, especially the legendary surgeon Kim Sa Bu, played by Han Suk Kyu.
Fortunately, after three years since the second season ended, Teacher Kim, along with the majority of the original cast members, returns with a new sequel.
Slated to premiere on April 28, "Dr. Romantic 3" will be the newest Friday and Saturday K-drama that will surely keep the viewers hooked with every episode.
The third installment will feature 16 episodes; however, fans are hoping to extend it to 20 episodes, same as with season 1.
As viewers are looking forward to seeing Han Suk Kyu reunite with the Doldam family, here are 3 reasons why everyone should watch "Dr. Romantic 3."
The Cast Lineup
There's no denying that one of the reasons why fans love the SBS medical K-drama is also because of the amazing actors of "Dr. Romantic 3."
As mentioned, Han Suk Kyu reprised his role as Teacher Kim, also known as Kim Sa Bu.
Joining him as lead stars for season 3 are Lee Sung Kyung and Ahn Hyo Seop as Cha Eun Jae and Seo Woo Jin.
Adding to the list of returning cast members are Kim Joo Heon, Jin Kyung, Kim Min Jae, So Ju Yeon, Shin Dong Wook, Bora, and more, who took on the roles of Doldam Hospital staff.
From the original cast members, "Dr. Romantic 3" also introduces new characters. Lee Shin Young and Lee Hong Nae will portray rookie doctors at Doldam Hospital, while Lee Kyung Young, who also appeared in "QueenMaker," will be the show's new villain.
The Loveline
In "Dr. Romantic 3," Kim Sa Bu will focus on his trauma center, which is his passion project.
To recall, in the finale episode of season 2, the legendary doctor said that he wanted to establish a trauma center since the countryside lacks a hospital that would cater to the needs of patients.
Apart from that, viewers are hoping that the love line between Kim Min Jae and So Ji Yeon's characters will continue.

To recall, one of the episodes featured how Seo Woo Jin hints at his feelings towards her. Interestingly, Cha Eun Jae took the courage and finally consider her feelings for Seo Woo Jin.
Special Apparances
Rumor sparked that a season 1 cast will return in the next sequel of "Dr. Romantic."
Ahead of the premiere, SPOTV News reported that Yoo Yeon Seok will have a cameo appearance in season 3.
He will return as Kang Dong Joo, one of the first apprentices under Kim Sa Bu.
Yoo Yeon Seok first appeared in season 1 alongside Seo Hyun Jin but failed to join the cast of season 2 due to schedule conflict.
However, following the report regarding Yoo Yeon Seok's special appearance in "Dr. Romantic 3," his agency shared that it is "difficult to confirm the special appearance" of the actor.
