Lee Soon Jae made headlines after he made an NSFW comment on Lee Seung Gi and Lee Da In's wedding. Months after the celebrity couple's ceremony, the veteran actor explained the reason behind his remark.
During his appearance on the YouTube channel "Jung Young-jin and Choi Wook's Mae-bul Show," the 88-year-old actor recalled his experience during the wedding and mentioned the speech he gave at the ceremony.

For Lee Soon Jae, he pointed out that getting intimate is a physical act that helps couples feel closer to one another.
"When I officiate, I emphasize making love vigorously when you are young. If you don't want to do that, why are you getting married?" he said, as obtained by a media outlet.
He also added that having an intimate moment makes marriage and relationships healthy for couples.

The veteran actor also explained why it is a fundamental factor in a strong relationship.
"Couples often quarrel over some small problem. When I make a mistake, if I don't solve it, I feel uncomfortable and can't work. I will definitely solve it within that day. It's all over. It's the basis of married life," he said.
Lee Soon Jae gave advice to young couples and said, "You can't live only with love and passion. From there, trust, duty, and will are created."
Lastly, as for the "five times a week" statement, he said that it "was an impromptu ad lib."

Lee Soon Jae joked that he was expecting to participate at the wedding by being the officiator, but it turned out to be Yoo Jae Suk. His speech took a different turn after he advised the newlyweds to "make love passionately and aggressively," adding that they should do it "at least five times a week" since they wouln't be able to enjoy it once they get old.
Lee Seung Gi was taken aback, while Lee Da In was spotted laughing shyly as she heard the speech.

Although the newlyweds and the guests played along with the actor's comment, netizens saw it the other way. The public deemed Lee Soon Jae's comment inappropriate for a wedding.
Others also pointed out that the speech was a "little too over the top" for a ceremony.
