‘Reborn Rich’ Season 2 To Reportedly Highlight Lee Sung Min’s Character + Will Song Joong Ki Join the Sequel?
After the huge success of the webtoon-based series, "Reborn Rich" season 2 will reportedly focuse on Chairman Jin Yang Chul's story, played by veteran actor Lee Sung Min.
From a record-breaking viewership rating to notable recognitions and more, the JTBC series received overwhelming responses from the public, media, and award-giving bodies.
Interestingly, it seemed like these factors pushed the officials to release "Reborn Rich" season 2.
'Reborn Rich' Season 2 to Focus on Chairman Jin Yang Chul? Here's What We Know
According to a media outlet, the highly-anticipated sequel to the Song Joong Ki-led K-drama is being planned by the producers and officials of the drama. As mentioned by a venture investment industry, WYSIWYG Studio, a visual special effects (VFX) company, is in contact with several investors and producers to pre-produce "Reborn Rich" season 2.
Interestingly, the sequel is reportedly highlighting the past of Soonyang Group's Jin Yang Chul before he became one of the most powerful businessmen in the country.
With the new twist in "Reborn Rich" season 2, author San Kyung, the original web novel writer where the show was adapted, will also be part of the sequel.
To recall, Jin Yang Chul is the founder of the Soonyang conglomerate. He created the business empire from scratch; hence, he is overly protective of the company, unlike his children.

In the first season, it featured how he was drawn to his grandson's perspective of the company. Jin Do Joon, played by Song Joong Ki, has what it takes to lead the company. However, he gets caught up in the greed of his relatives.
While there is a possibility for the JTBC series to return, with Lee Sung Min's character being the subject of the sequel, it is yet to be confirmed if the veteran actor will reprise his role. The same goes for Song Joong Ki.
'Reborn Rich' Season 2 Will Have Different Director, Scriptwriter?
While details are up in the air for "Reborn Rich" season 2, the webtoon-based K-drama will showcase major changes.
In the same report, the director and scriptwriter are likely to be replaced. The changes are due to controversy in season 1, after "Reborn Rich" ended with a different finale story from the original webtoon.
At the height of the series, viewers expressed their disappointment with the difference between the K-drama and the webtoon finale.
Viewers pointed out that the TV show deviated from the original story, especially how Jin Do Joon takes his revenge against Soonyang and his relationship with Seo Min Young, played by Shin Hyun Bin.
Despite this, "Reborn Rich" ended with a box office success after garnering the highest viewership rating of 26.9 percent.
