The final episode of "Doctor Cha" was finally released, creating a bittersweet atmosphere. In episode 16, Uhm Jung Hwa comes to terms with her reality.

'Doctor Cha' Episode 16: Cha Jung Suk Ties Loose Ends

Cha Jung Suk (Uhm Jung Hwa) declines Seo In Ho (Kim Byung Chul) and Roy Kim's (Min Woo Hyuk) offer. She just wants to surrender her life to fate.

In episode 16, she tries to tie all loose ends and put band-aids on relationships that have been severed along the way.

The doctor then takes a trip down memory lane and writes a letter for her children whom she loves a lot, and also finishes painting the final cupboard door before she gets a divorce.

Seo In Ho signs the divorce papers and wishes for her to live a happy life from then on. He also promises to repent for his sins, and live a life with no regrets.

Meanwhile, Choi Seung Hee (Myung Se Bin) begins to move forward by quitting the hospital. She plans to take over the hospice that his father used to manage before he passed away.

Cha Jung Suk's Second Liver Transplant

Seo In Ho becomes Cha Jung Suk's liver donor. He wants to do at least one right thing for her before their divorce. The surgery and liver transplant are a success, thanks to Roy Kim's delicate hands and expertise.

Following the surgery, they go to court to finally get a divorce. Cha Jung Suk and Seo In Ho share their first lunch in years, and also the last, creating a bittersweet moment for the two.

They both congratulate one another for their lives, and accept that their relationship has come to an end. They shake hands, a sign of their new beginning.

Cha Jung Suk's Romantic Status

After getting divorced, Cha Jung Suk focused on her career and personal life. She's living a single, stress-free life as a family medicine specialist.

She also has a cafe that also serves as her clinic, the same building Seo In Ho's mother bought under her name. Her mother lives with her now who also helps in her new business.

As for Roy Kim, Cha Jung Suk bares her heart and says that she doesn't see a future with him. The two still communicate as friends and meet up as colleagues, and doctor and patient.

The Seo Siblings

Seo Jung Min (Song Ji Ho) plans to return to Gusan after he finishes his military service. His girlfriend, Jeon So Ra (Jo Ah Ram), jokes that she now ranks way higher than him.

The two also discuss being a family, which sends viewers to a high. Meanwhile, Seo Yi Rang (Lee Seo Yeon) and Choi Eun Seo (So Ah Rin) patch things up and move on with their lives.

Baek Mi Hee (Baek Joo Hee) still claims her spot as Cha Jung Suk's best friend, supporting her in every endeavor.

Cha Jung Suk's Ultimate Liberation

At the end of the episode, Cha Jung Suk finally fulfills her life-long dream of going on a trip by herself.

With a new life, great support system and a bright future ahead of her, Cha Jung Suk heads off on a medical mission; happy and alive.
