Uhm Jung Hwa Reveals Thoughts on 'Doctor Cha' Conclusion

For eight consecutive weeks, fans were entertained by the clever and touching JTBC series "Doctor Cha" starring Uhm Jung Hwa.

However, its conclusion caused quite a stir among fans after having an allegedly predictable and lackluster ending.

In the series, Cha Jung Suk (Uhm Jung Hwa) divorced her cheating husband Seo In Ho (Kim Byung Chul) and moved on with her life. She built a clinic that also serves as a cafe that offers healthy food and snacks.

Cha Jung Suk also rejected Roy Kim (Min Woo Hyuk), which disappointed a lot of fans. Many claim that the drama should have ended with the two doctors together.

Some viewers, on the other hand, argue that ending "Doctor Cha" with Cha Jung Suk being single while fulfilling her life-long dreams is the best way to conclude it.

On June 7, Uhm Jung Hwa surprised the fans by sharing her own opinion regarding the ending. In an interview with JTBC, she finally chose between Kim Byung Chul and Min Woo Hyuk's characters.

If she were Cha Jung Suk in real life, she would have chosen Roy Kim over Seo In Ho. She reasoned, "He's a loyal man who has comforted and cared for Doctor Cha when her husband ignored her for his other woman."

Uhm Jung Hwa also stated that the ending satisfied her but it "would have been better" if Cha Jung Suk ended up with Roy Kim.

On the other hand, Uhm Jung Hwa describes her ideal man as an honest and caring person who "only has a heart" for her.

Uhm Jung Hwa Reveals Favorite Scene From 'Doctor Cha'

Among the fan-favorite scenes from the JTBC series, Uhm Jung Hwa chose the scene where she told her colleagues about her "dead husband."

She described it as a "cider-infused and lighthearted moment" for all the cast and crew. Uhm Jung Hwa said, "It was fun and fresher because it came out right like what we expected."

In addition, Uhm Jung Hwa also felt proud of her work as she has done many ad-libs in "Doctor Cha" which she hasn't done before, hinting at how comfortable she is on set.
