Lim Ji Yeon got her second heyday, thanks to Netflix's "The Glory," where she took on the role of villain Park Yeon Jin. Along with Hallyu queen Song Hye Kyo, the revenge K-drama took the world by storm and returned with a sequel.

At the height of the show, the Netflix series received mixed reactions from viewers. While some included negative feedback from the audience, the majority expressed how they got hooked on every episode of the show.

In the drama, Moon Dong Eun, played by Song Hye Kyo, was tormented by her classmates and experienced brutal harassment and bullying. Park Yeon Jin was the conniving ringleader of the group who enjoyed seeing Dong Eun suffer.

Despite her actions, her wealthy mother made sure that her daughter would never face a single consequence for her crimes.

However, years later, Moon Dong Eun started her grand plan to get back and have her much-awaited revenge against the perpetrators who ruined her life. Of course, that includes Park Yeon Jin.

Months after "The Glory 2" ended, an expert examined the personality of Lim Ji Yeon's character.

Was 'The Glory' Villain Park Yeon Jin a Psychopath?

Criminal psychologist and professor Park Ji Sun appeared as a guest in KBS 2TV's "Problem Child on the Rooftop." With the host asking about the possible condition of the fictional character, the expert defended her from others who called Yeon Jin a psycho.

But according to her, Park Yeon Jin is not a psychopath, and here's why.

When asked by the host if a psychopath is born, the criminal psychologist professor explained that this "behavior is influenced by both genetic and acquired factors."

As for Park Yeon Jin, the antagonist in "The Glory," the expert said that she doesn't meet the criteria of someone who has a condition of a psychopath.

"Does Yeon Jin have a criminal record?" the professor asked in response, adding, "Or is there any evidence that she took the lead in committing a crime out of all those evil deeds?"

Lastly, the expert concluded that a person with a phsychopathic disorder "will do well without changing your expression." The criminal psychologist added that a psychopath could "do well without emotional agitation."

However, she thought that rather than being a psychopath, Park Yeon Jin has an "antisocial standard."

Interestingly, despite how scary the character is, playing the role of Park Yeon Jin brought Lim Ji Yeon various recognitions. It includes winning the Best Supporting Actress title at the Baeksang Arts Awards 2023, while Song Hye Kyo took home the Best Actress title.
