Kim Sae Ron's 'Bloodhounds' Appearance Caught Viewers' Attention

In the action-crime K-drama, Kim Hyun Joo is depicted as the fearless successor of President Choi Tae Ho, portrayed by Heo Joon Ho, a once powerful and influential person in Seoul.

However, due to his encounter with his former staff, Kim Myung Gil, played by Park Sung Woong, he got away from the spotlight and lived a quiet life, helping sick and poor individuals.

Unfortunately, Kim Hyun Joo wanted to trace the organization behind the person who tricked his grandfather.

This is where viewers saw the different side of Kim Sae Ron as she pulled off difficult stunts with Woo Do Hwan and Lee Sang Yi.

In addition, not only did the actress surprise viewers with her combat skills but also with her transformation into Kim Hyun Joo.

The 22-year-old beauty has a short haircut and has a no-makeup look most of the time.

According to a media outlet, the audience praised her for justifying the role of Kim Hyun Joo with her "cool" aura.

Why Did 'Bloodhounds' Director Decide to Keep Kim Sae Ron Despite the DUI Incident?

During the "Bloodhounds" press conference ahead of the world premiere, director Jason Kim, who also helmed hit movies "The Divine Fury" and "Midnight Runners," revealed the reason he didn't remove Kim Sae Ron from casting.

As obtained by a media outlet, the filmmaker explained that they only reduced her role instead of completely removing her from the series since her role plays a significant part.

"We really tried to minimize any discomfort for our viewers," the director explained, adding, "With the thought that the efforts of numerous individuals should not go to waste, we did our best to minimize the length of Kim Sae Ron's role while maximizing the overall quality of the show in order to enhance its completeness."

To recall, during the production of "Bloodhounds," Kim Sae Ron was heavily criticized after being involved in a DUI incident.

At the time, rumors sparked that rookie actress Jung Dae Eun would be her replacement, but as seen in the 8-part epiosode K-drama, she played a different character and was seen in the second part.

"Bloodhounds" is also the last project of Kim Sae Ron since the scandal broke.
