Kim Sae Ron Issue: Actress Clarifies ‘Financial Difficulty Controversy’ During Court Trial
Kim Sae Ron subtly responded to accusations pertaining to her financial struggle that sparked controversy.
The actress, who was embroiled in the drunk driving incident in 2022 appeared at the Seoul Central District Criminal Court for her trial.
Kim Sae Ron Was Fined With 20 Million KRW for DUI
According to a news portal, "The Great Shaman Ga Doo Shim" star was fined 20 million KRW or around 15,184 USD after the actress was found guilty of violating the Road Traffic Act through DUI.
Besides the verdict announcing her penalty, Chief Judge Lee Hwan Gi pointed out why drunk driving is a serious crime since it could greatly harm people and properties, just like what happened to Kim Sae Ron.
To recall, the actress was caught driving her SUV in Cheongdam, Gangnam, on the morning of May 18, 2022, when she crashed and hit a public property, which includes a guard rail and an electric post.
The damage caused inconvenience not just to the whole neighborhood but also to several businesses.
Apart from paying the damages and penalties, she is also facing a 20 million KRW fine as requested by the prosecution.

It appears like the actress is taking responsibility and accepting the million-won fine following the controversial incident that happened in 2022.
Kim Sae Ron apologized for her actions but spoke about the issue regarding her current status.

In a brief interview with the media, she spoke about the "false financial difficulty controversy."
"I didn't complain about financial difficulties but it is true that I did work part-time," she said. She also thinks that the "penalty is high" but promised to take responsibility since the mistake was on her end.

Months after news broke regarding Kim Sae Ron's DUI, the former child star once again made it to headlines after she appeared during the court trial.
At the time, she was criticized for staging a fake photo while showing that she is working at a cafe.
As posted on Kim Sae Ron's Instagram story, the actress even had a uniform and was photographed making beverages.
However, a media outlet mentioned that a representative from the coffee chain spoke about the actress' claims and revealed that she was never an employee of any of their branch.
The store owner of the location in question has a part-time employee who are friends with Kim Sae Ron. However, the owner has said Kim Sae Ron has never worked as an employee there," the representative said, as mentioned in a report.
