Goo Hye Sun, who is best known for her role in "Boys Over Flowers," is facing legal action against her former agency HB Entertainment. It was after the actress recently lost a lawsuit against the label regarding her unpaid fees.

Goo Hye Sun Accused of Causing Financial & Psychological Damage to HB Entertainment Employees

Right after a major setback in her career, the 38-year-old actress-director was accused by her former agency of causing damage not just to the company but also to its employees.

According to a local media outlet, HB Entertainment will pursue the legal charges after experiencing "serious financial and psychological damage" from the actress.

The agency pointed out that the legal battle was related to the actress' dispute with her exclusive contract and lawsuits. The action was based on Goo Hye Sun's "repeated false claims for years."

As a result, HB Entertainment pointed out that they "could not tolerate" her continuing to ruin the reputation of the company by spreading "various false facts."

"Since we can no longer tolerate her distorting and denying even the court's ruling, interfering with the company's business, and seriously damaging the company's reputation, we will proceed with legal proceedings for all false information and false reports by Goo Hye Sun," a representative explained.

Court Dismisses Goo Hye Sun's Lawsuit Against HB Entertainment

The legal action by HB Entertainment comes after the Seoul Central District Court dismissed the case filed by the actress regarding her unpaid fees.

Goo Hye Sun demanded appearance fees and shares from the YouTube channel that was established by the company.

However, a media outlet cited that the Korea Commercial Arbitration Board had decided that the actress should pay 35 million won as damages to her former agency. The actress filed an additional application, which was rejected by the Court.

Goo Hye Sun's dispute with HB Entertainment all boils down to her relationship with her former husband, Ahn Jae Hyun.

At the time, they were both under the same agency, but after the couple went through a divorce, the actress' relationship with the agency experienced problems that triggered a dispute.

The "Angel Eyes" star accused the agency of prioritizing Ahn Jae Hyun, causing her to terminate her contract with the label.

Following the riff with HB Entertainment, Goo Hye Sun moved to the agency established by a former YG Entertainment employee whom she previously knew during her time with YG.

CEO Kim Sung Hoon's label, MIMI Entertainment, officially announced that the actress has signed an exclusive contract under their agency.

Although she is not that active on the small screen, Goo Hye Sun is busy with directing and screenwriting.

Her latest work was the short film "Dark Yellow," which premiered at the 2021 Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival and won in the Asian category at the 24th Short Shorts Film Festival in 2022.
