Directed by Park Hoon Jung of "V.I.P," "New World," and "The Witch" parts 1 and 2, "The Childe" is an action-noir film about a boy whose lifelong dream is to become a boxer. Growing up in the Philippines, with his mother, he wants to look for his father in South Korea.

Unfortunately, when he came to his father's homeland, he got caught up with the villains, among whom is Kim Seon Ho's character, who plays the mysterious "nobleman."

Before getting the offer, the actor said that director Park Hoon Jung had doubts about casting him in "The Childe" and knew of him through people's recommendations.

"He said I was recommended to him once before too, but he didn't like my profile picture," he said, adding that the director thinks that his face doesn't suit the noir genre.
