Park Jung Min Shares Intense Preparation for His Role in 'Smugglers'

While she dominates the weekend with her K-drama "King the Land," YoonA surprised many after Park Jung Min revealed her impromptu text.

The award-winning actor sat for a media interview to talk about his new movie "Smugglers." In the movie, he plays as Jang Do Ri, the youngest member of the smuggling group. According to him, he gained 15kg and weighed up to 80kg for his role.

After noticing his hard work by the director, who was satisfied with his transformation, he stopped working out.

In addition, to promote the film "Smugglers" before hitting the cinemas, Park Jung Min and his co-stars Go Min Si and Yum Jung Ah made their appearances in the weekend Korean variety show "Amazing Saturday" on July 22.

They established a fun and playful synergy with the rest of the program's cast. Park Jung Min made everyone laugh because he did not get any right answers during the quiz.

Following this, the actor revealed in the interview that he received a text from YoonA regarding his appearance in "Amazing Saturday."

According to Park Jung Min:

"YoonA sent me a text message saying she's upset that she couldn't appear in the show with 'King the Land' cast."

The actor smiled and felt sorry for his former co-star.

YoonA and Park Jung Min worked together through the movie "Miracle," and established a good friendship since then. He is said to be an avid fan of Girls' Generation before and received an album signed by the members.

'Smugglers' Invited at Toronto International Film Festival

Meanwhile, "Smugglers" had its VIP premiere last July 20 attended by celebrities. YoonA was also present at the event to support Park Jung Min and the rest of the cast members.

Ahead of its release, it was announced that "Smugglers" is invited to the 48th Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) Special Presentation category, which will be held from September 7 to 17.

TIFF is one of the world's top four international film festivals, along with the Cannes Film Festival, Berlin International Film Festival, and the Venice International Film Festival.

Furthermore, "Smugglers," starring Jo In Sung, Kim Hye Soo, Yum Jung Ah, Go Min Si, and Park Jung Min, is set to meet the viewers beginning July 26 in cinemas.
