Lee Joon Gi’s ‘Arthdal Chronicles 2’ To Not Air on Netflix — Here’s Why
The much-anticipated fantasy series this 2023, "Arthdal Chronicles 2" is about to make its debut in the second half of this year. However, there are a few changes before its premiere.
'Arthdal Chronicles 2' To Air on Disney+
tvN's "Arthdal Chronicles 2" will finally meet the viewers. Composed of big and talented stars, the fantasy K-drama is one of the highly-anticipated works this 2023.
"Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon" tells the story of the heroes who make their own legends in the mythical land of Arth. Season 2 will narrate the story of the changes in Arth a decade after Tagon takes the throne.
Lee Joon Gi and Shin Se Kyung are the newest cast members to lead the series and will join the original cast Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Vin.
Since most of the biggest K-dramas being released today can be streamed on Netflix, it is different for "Arthdal Chronicles 2."
In February, there were speculations that the sequel would be released on Netflix. However, the production did not release any statement at that time.

According to a source on July 31, it has been confirmed that the series will air on Disney+ and not on Netflix.
The sequel is also tentatively scheduled to premiere sometime in September, after the conclusion of the action-fantasy drama "The Uncanny Counter 2."
What We Know So Far About 'Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramoon'
Veteran actor Jang Dong Gun reprises his role as Tagon, the first king to wage war in Arthdal for absolute power. Lee Joon Gi plays a dual role of Sa Ya and Eun Seom, the leader of the Ago Tribe who advances towards Arthdal for freedom.
Shin Se Kyung portrays Tanya, the high priest of Arthdal, who uses God's will for the sake of the people.
Kim Ok Vin is Tae Alha, a politician who does everything to get what she wants.
The series will be helmed by "The Great Battle" director Kim Kwang Sik and Kim Young Hyeon, and Park Sang Yeon will join to pen the script.
tvN released photos of the cast members during the table reading. Unfortunately, lead star Shin Se Kyung had to sit out as she was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Even though Lee Joon Gi is new to the role, he impressed everyone in the room with his masterful portrayal of his characters Eun Seom and Sa Ya. In particular, he managed to capture the polar opposite personalities of the twins.
Meanwhile, Jang Dong Gun and Kim Ok Vin showcased again their impactful acting during season 1 as they immersed themselves in their characters.
