One of the highly-anticipated K-dramas this August, "The Killing Vote," continues to tease viewers with exciting teasers, keeping the public curious about the drama's premise.

A few days before the release of the much-awaited premiere, SBS dropped a new poster, hinting at what to expect in the upcoming K-drama.

Who is the Masked Man in 'The Killing Vote'?

Based on the hit Kakao webtoon, "The Killing Vote" focuses on the country's nationwide death penalty against criminals who commit heinous crimes.

The series features a mysterious figure known as "Gae Tal," which means "dog mask" in Korean. Wearing a strange-looking mask, he executes the death penalty based on the results of the nationwide voting.

In this activity, citizens over 18 years old would receive a text message asking if the individual should receive the death penalty or not.

On the other hand, authorities are hunting down the mysterious person behind the mask.

In the latest update, "The Killing Vote" poster showcased individual posters of the cast with Gae Tal at the center. The teaser suggests that one of them is the mysterious character.

"The Killing Vote" cast members Park Hae Jin, Park Sung Woong, Lim Ji Yeon, Kim Yoo Mi, Kim Kwon, Choi Yoo Hwa, and Shin Jung Keun show stern expressions, making it hard for the viewers to speculate which of them might be Gae Tal.

In the comments section, fans mentioned how excited they are to watch the intriguing K-drama. In addition, viewers are also thrilled to see Lim Ji Yeon in yet another exciting project.

'The Killing Vote' Cast, Release Date

With "The Killing Vote" teaser hinting at a mind-boggling story, the upcoming webtoon-based SBS series also showcases a roster of talented cast members.

Joining as one of the lead stars is Park Hae Jin, who plays Kim Moo Chan. He works at a provincial police agency, leading the investigation team, while Lim Ji Yeon takes on the role of Joo Hyun from Seoul Metropolitan Police. She works as a lieutenant under the Cyber Security Bureau.

In addition, "Bloodhounds" villain Park Sung Woong plays as Kwon Suk Joo. He is a respected prison inmate who was sentenced after avenging her 8-year-old daughter, who was sexually assaulted.

"The Killing Vote" release date is set to air its pilot episode on August 10 at 9 p.m. KST. Viewers will get to watch the upcoming K-drama via SBS every Thursday.

'The Killing Vote' Director Praises Lim Ji Yeon + Park Hae Jin Shares Preparation for New Role

As mentioned by a news outlet, director Park Shin Woo and screenwriter Jo Yoon Young both lauded Lim Ji Yeon for her exceptional portrayal of Joo Hyun.

The director said that the character perfectly suits Lim Ji Yeon, showcasing its lovable eccentric trait.

"You'll be able to see her as a cute police officer, a character that is the polar opposite of the national villain [that she played in 'The Glory']," Director Park Shin Woo added.

As for Park Hae Jin, he did a lot of physical preparation since he will be doing a lot of running and "realistic and thrilling car chase scenes," which he mentioned "will be another highlight of the drama."
