Son Seok Koo Would Rather Play Goo Kyo Hwan’s Role Than Jung Hae In’s – Here’s Why
Son Seok Koo talked about his co-stars Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan as they reprised their roles in "D.P." season 2.
The versatile star returned as Captain Im Ji Sup, one of the members of the D.P. team, working closely with the duo and Seargent Park Bum Goo, played by Kim Sung Kyun.
In the second sequel, Captain Im's personal story was highlighted, giving Son Seok Koo more screentime than in season 1.
During the interview with the actor, as obtained by a media outlet, Son Seok Koo shared his experience filming the series and what he thought about the characters.
Son Seok Koo Says Playing Captain Im in 'D.P.' Season 2 Was 'Challenging'
Like Sergeant Park Bum Goo, Captain Im Ji Sup experienced changes in his responsibilities in the army after getting involved in Private First Class Jo Suk Bong's incident.
Besides this, Im Ji Sup's ex-wife, Seo Eun, played by Kim Ji Hyun, was introduced.

Following Kim Ru Ri's case, Captain Im worked alongside Seo Eun to expose the military's brutality and harassment of their low-ranking soldiers.
With this, Son Seok Koo said that the challenging part was the character growth of Captain Im. In the sequel, he had to portray his role as someone who is a father of three and a divorced soldier.
From character development to his co-stars, the 40-year-old actor also mentioned fellow lead stars Jung Hae In and Goo Kyo Hwan.
Why Son Seok Koo Chooses Han Hyo Yeol's Role Over Ahn Joon Ho
When asked about their characters, Son Seok Koo said that he would love to play the role of Corporal Han Hyo Yeol (Goo Kyo Hwan) rather than Private Soldier Ahn Joon Ho (Jung Hae In).
As explained by the actor, he said that Ahn Joon Ho did a lot of physical work and was impressed by how Jung Hae In gave justice to the role.
Expressing his high praise for the actor, Son Seok Koo mentioned how Ahn Joon Ho was a perfect fit for his co-star.
"Hae In has a really good body. Because of this, I think he gets along well with Joon Ho."
Moreover, he also mentioned that his role in "The Roundup" is almost similar to Han Hyo Yeol's, especially with his words compared to action scenes.
Son Seok Koo to Go on Brief Hiatus?
Besides his back-to-back on-screen projects, Son Seok Koo recently participated in a theater play and mentioned that he had been working nonstop.
With this, the actor acknowledged that he needs physical rest and is planning to take a break.
"This time, I'm going to take a 3-month break for the first time.
My current play ends next week, and I haven't had any mental difficulties in a while, but the time to physically rest has come."
After "D.P." season 2, Son Seok Koo will also be part of the upcoming K-drama "Murder DIEary" with Choi Woo Shik.
