Producers of the hit Netflix survival reality show updated viewers on what to expect in "Physical: 100" season 2.
During the press conference, main producer Jang Ho Ki, together with season 1 alums Jang Eun Sil and Jo Jin Hyung, graced the event to talk about their experiences and give hints at the changes for the upcoming season.
'Physical: 100' Season 2 to Showcase 'Different' Format than Season 1
As obtained by a news outlet, Jang Ho Ki shared that the goal for "Physical: 100" season 2 is "to look very different from the first season."
To recall, the first season went by the theme of ancient Greece, where contestants competed against each other in the arena.
However, for the second season, the game will feature "more modern times."
As mentioned by the show's main producer, the quest includes "underground mines between the 1950s and the 1960s." The main producer explained that this is where they got the concept for the upcoming season.
"These mines were where people sacrificed themselves and where competition and desire were rampant," he added.
'Physical: 100' Season 2 Cast, Location
Another change that viewers will see on "Physical: 100" season 2 is the lineup of contestants and the location of the game.
Unlike the first season, where the majority of the cast members have the same body type and profession, this time it will be more diverse, with different occupations and body types."
"The contestants range from those weighing 44 kg (97 lbs.) to 200 kg, and their body types are also very mixed. More than 30 of the 100 contestants are current or former athletes from national sports teams," he said.
Interestingly, the producer also hints that more female contestants will be joining the second season.
"I personally have high expectations that one of the female contestants will win the final prize in this second season," he furthered.
From theme, contestant, and now location and quests. The main producer revealed that the upcoming season will have double the size of the first location, which only means more quests for the participants.

"We wanted each quest to be part of a larger theme and for all of them to be interconnected. Of course, safety came first in creating the bigger set," the producer explained.
